The latest in the series of televised debates among the candidates for the Republican nomination for President is scheduled for tonight.

He mentioned Russia first then later applied it to relations with China. My spouse about choked when Perry said it.
Sorry I missed this debate...hopefully a video might be avaiable soon.
One of the many things I admire in Newt is he 'believes' what he is saying and why he can speak as he does. Never comes across as one repeating facts someone else told him to say so that he 'sounds' like he knows what he's talking about.
Wouldn’t that mean they are all the same? I’d say no because there have been real differences in some of the answers.
I thought he did pretty well with his answers tonight. I know people on here say he didn’t, but nobody stood out to be honest.
Did you watch that debate live, or did you only hear about the Princess Pelosi comment afterwards?
I ask, because it was clear (to people who understand context) that Cain was not calling Pelosi a Princess, he was saying that PELOSI considers HERSELF to be ROYALTY.
It was no different than any of the other candidates directly bashing Obama for his faults. The only reason people took offense at Cain's use of the word Princess was because of the false allegations of sexual harassment. But Cain was not calling her a Princess. He was referring to HER impression of HERSELF.
Some would call that confident in what he's saying...which to those with confidence issues mistake this for arrogance. It's beyond refreshing hearing Newt explain with clarity what he believes....what his opinion and thoughts are concerning the issues at hand. He does not go too far over peoples heads, which obviously he could do, nor does he leave the intellectuals out to dry....good balance in explaining things so all can understand where he's coming from and how he sees things.
hmmmmmm....

The fact is, its 1,200 miles from Brownsville to El Paso. Two things: How long you think it would take to build that? And then if you build a 30-foot wall from El Paso to Brownsville, the 35-foot ladder business gets real good.

MANCHESTER, N.H. (AP) Republican presidential candidate Rick Perry says he opposes a fence along the U.S. border with Mexico.
Speaking to hundreds of New Hampshire voters at a private reception Saturday afternoon, the Texas governor says a fence would be ineffective and take too long to build.
Here's what I do know:
If the GOP continues to be divided, and continues to be filled with voters who refuse to vote for someone because they are not perfect, and because they don't share every single one of their personal values, then the Democrats will win every time.
For example, if a Republican candidate was perfect in EVERY sense, except that candidate was either pro-choice or simply not perfectly pro-life enough, then there are millions of Republicans who will not vote for that candidate. That will give the election to the Democrats every time.
At some point, every single person in the GOP needs to realize that our COUNTRY is what is important here, not our own individual need for perfection in a candidate.
What we are seeing now is a perfect example. 75% of the voters don't want Romney. But that's who we WILL end up with, because everyone is going to vote for their own candidate, which will dilute the vote so much that Romney will win with only 23% of the GOP behind him.
Bachmann can't win. Her voters need to realize that and get on board with either Gingrich, Cain, or Perry, RIGHT NOW.
Huntsman can't win. His supporters need to go to Gingrich, Cain, or Perry. RIGHT NOW.
Same with Paul.
Same with Santorum.
Once we make that cut, from 8 down to 4, then we can go another few rounds of debates, and vet Gingrich, Cain, and Perry some more.
By December 1st, we need to cut it down to 2 of those 3 (two of Gingrich, Cain, and Perry).
Whichever of those three is trailing on December 1st, that person's supporters need to move to one of the remaining two.
And by Christmas, we need to pick our BEST “not-Romney” option, and we ALL need to vote for him, whether he is our personal first choice or not.
If we do not do this, WE, the GOP, the Conservatives, the TEA Party, the AMERICAN PEOPLE, will lose... we will end up with Romney... and we will end up with Obama.
So I don't care if Gingrich has baggage, or if he can “get around” his baggage. I care that we can elect someone besides Romney, and that we can beat Obama in 2012.
Pakistan will never be our friend.
Islam is inherantly devious and dishonest.
Green glass is kind of Christmassy.
Bachmann isn’t that far behind Perry, so don’t expect her to drop out in favor of him.
There's a huge difference between not knowing "everything" and having the working knowledge necessary to keep up with the issues. You need at least that to pick your "experts."
>> “Newt is the complete package!” <<
.
Yep, all the socialist stupidity anyone could want all wrapped up in one fat fool.
I don’t know the answer to that question.
It definitely wasn’t the 999 plan. Perry has worked with Steve Forbes to develop a flat tax plan that most people seem to prefer to 999.
I think maybe what happened was that when Sarah Palin decided not to run, many of her followers turned to Cain and ....
I don’t know.
He should be at the top of the polls. Maybe he’ll get there.
Maybe people don’t like Texas or don’t want another Texan.
Who the heck knows.
That is the biggest exaggeration I have ever read on FR. Mitt is hated as much as Obama. Even called him Obama-lite on FR. Maybe if Perry was a Mormon your claim would have been true. The hatred for Mormons Is unbelievable.
I believe Mr. Cain said in an interview I heard that he referred to her on his radio show as Princess Nancy. There is no doubt in my mind that we all agree, but it really doesn’t translate well on the debate stage (I did see that debate).
I love his sense of humor...but even he admitted during an interview with Cavuto yesterday that he might need to “dial things” back a little. From a 10 to a....9.:D
I think he heard the couple of boos and knew he shouldn’t have stooped to that level. He has to be careful. The moderate, independents and undecideds, like it when they stay above that type of behavior and they are the votes he is courting now.
