With a thick piece of black duct tape covering the Penn State logo on his baseball cap and a pair of signs criticizing the university, Jon Matko knew he wasnt going to make many friends at Beaver Stadium on Saturday. But he didnt care.
The 2000 Penn State graduate and father of a 4-year-old boy said he felt he had to do something to remind Nittany Lions fans about the victims in the schools sexual abuse scandal. So while kids posed for pictures next to the Joe Paterno statue and others chanted, We Are before Saturdays game, Matko stood on a street just outside the stadium quietly holding his signs and accepting the abuse that came with it.

Given what has taken place this week, it seem to be icing on the cake for Penn to lose.
“and accepting the abuse that came with it.”
That really says it all, doesn’t it...
Really?? You just can't make this stuff up - Former State Penn prez's wife is an associate with the PSU Wymyns' Studies Dept.
Its the right thing, he said. Its not about Joe. Its about the kids.
He’s right, of course. Someone should tell the interim Penn State President, who might have at least mentioned the victims and their families in his self-serving announcement on ESPN.
But make no doubt - in the eyes of everyone from Paterno and his staff on up, it is only about one thing: MONEY.
Paterno was the $1.2M per year CEO of Penn State Football Inc, a $91M enterprise. As always - “follow the money”.
Rank School Total Revenue Conference

3rd Florida $106,030,895 Southeastern Conference
4th Michigan $99,027,105 Big Ten
5th Wisconsin $93,452,334 Big Ten
6th Penn State $91,570,233 Big Ten
College sports is a cult!
That tax-payers subsidize this billion dollar brain washing is a travesty.
College athletics are farm teams for professional sports and should stand alone - not be associated with academic study.
Time for a change.
"So, you like little boys too?"
Its the right thing, he said. Its not about Joe. Its about the kids.
Someone should also tell ESPN.
I sent my kid to Penn State to become a Tight End, but when he came back he was a Wide Receiver...../ok, last joke...I know I shouldn’t do it
It seems like all the energy and attention the nation has for its countless thousands of sexually abused children is being poured into this one case.
It’s becoming pathetic.
...so there IS a Lot in Sodom and Gomorrah...
I agree. So-called college football players are nothing more than hired hands. That said, at least at Penn State, over 90% of football players graduated. Most of them were not in basket weaving 101.
Our local news here in Pittsburgh is reporting that a collection was taken up at the game for a child abuse prevention charity.
107,900 people attended this game. The charity collected $22,000. Says alot to me.
Screw these “fans”. These people are so stupid they’d follow their dumbass football coach right to Hell.
Twenty cents a piece? Not bad...for liberals.
On the other hand; the money might have all come from the Nebraska fans in attendance...
It says all the donors were Nebraskans.
And it’s all going to Second Mile, right?
The plan now is to sweep all other investigations away. Who can be depended on to actually look into what was really going on? The University? No. The state of Pennsylvania? No. The Feds? They love homos. No. I fear it will be “Let’s all just move along.”
