Nevertheless, I must say that the tone of a lot of the posters around recently caused me to do something I never thought I'd do, root for Penn State (ahem, at least for the Nebraska game ;-) ). I think the term "spittle-flecked" describes the tone of many around here rather nicely.
Chin up.
Yep, I would say that's about right. It's just horrific. The people I spoke with are sick to their stomachs about the whole affair, and just express shock and outrage over how many people let those kids down.
I saw some last nite and none of them mentioned this cheer. Was it that loud? Could they have been in a section far enough away to not hear it?
Assuming you mean the cheer during the prayer, it was extremely quiet absent 3-4 yahoos who shouted something out and were immediately quieted (as it didn't persist). The student section did cheer for Paterno a few times, although I didn't see any non-students joining in that. Can't say I can work myself into a lather over the somewhat immature worldview of college students...that's practically universal and expected.

I would agree...It's given my some new perspective on certain posters. I suspect if the "shoe were on the other foot" and this occurred within a Republican's office (for example) they'd be pointing out that this isn't representative of all Republicans. Too bad they can't extend the intellectual consistency beyond their narrow "favored" institutions.
