A last-ditch drive ends in disappointment for Penn State, which loses to Nebraska, 17-14. Not having any timeouts crippled the offense, which completed two passes short of a first down, including one with seconds left, but couldn't stop the clock.
This is a different Saturday in State College. Immediately after McGloin's final pass fell incomplete, the Penn State crowd cheered the team's effort: the cheering grew to a roar as the two teams again met a midfield, such as they did right before the game.
Again, as occurred several times during the game, there were chants of "We love JoePa." Interviewed after the game, interim coach Tom Bradley said that what Penn State has gone through over the last week is "unprecedented in the history of college sports."

Exactly.
People should not be wondering why there is a bunker mentality in Penn State right now.
Insane my son just graduated in engineering at PSU last May it took him all summer long to land a job and these idiots think he should be punished for what some creeper did?
This is a real ethical ball of wax for everyone at Penn State and males in the sports media. The only ones with no ethical delimina are the homo perv celebrators who enjoy wagging their asses at children and the whole country.
I can not beleive parents let them into the public schools for sex ed (grooming) and permitted them to form gay/straight sex clubs with children. In addition gay sex day celebrations...
What, are we nuts? Something in the water?
In case anyone thinks you're joking...

haha, yes, you and flintsilver just keep your little denial charade going.
(EXAMINE YOUR HEART!)
That's what you think. Maybe you are right; maybe you are wrong. But to state it as an absolute fact is wrong.
According to the grand jury report, Gary Schultz, who oversaw the police, was called to the meeting as well. Both Curley and Schultz met with McQueary, the actual witness, following this. So no, it wasn’t just the AD.
If it comes out that Paterno did know, then I won’t support him. What we know right now seems to point to the idea that in fact nobody did more than Paterno to report this, including two people who were direct witnesses.
I’m not buying the brick through the window bit. No witnesses and Sandusky wasn’t home.
Reporters also said that there were no protests outside of the Stadium today. You would think there would have been at least one significant protest from a campus that size.
Penn State is in denial and they will only wake up when their entire program is gone.
Right Mutt because you know me personally that I would sacrifice small children just for a win. Again proving that you are a moron ,however you have moved up you are now a huge moron, congrats.
Yes, they do. They also think the football team, who were pretty much all in junior high school when this happened, should be punished for the actions of a former coach.
Makes sense, doesn’t it?
In addition to the moment of silence, there was a candle-light vigil, and a blue-out in support of child abuse victims instead of the scheduled white-out.
I don't see how playing a game is a slap in the face to the victims.
Why did so many peopleincluding Paterno, a man who by all accounts has lived an honorable lifenot intervene? No one was required to do heroic acts; all that was needed were individuals who understood their most basic moral (and legal) duties. And yet everyone involved failed the test. It's impossible to know with certainty why they did; each individual case was undoubtedly influenced by different factors. But one cannot help but believe that the actors in this tragedy did not want to rock the boat. Football is iconic at Penn State; perhaps they thought they were protecting the institution many of them had come to love. Instead, they have brought to it disgrace. It's not the first time people who thought they were defending a noble institution ended up dishonoring it.
When McQueary witnessed him it was only 9:30. Not exactly late on a college campus. The campus NEVER contacted the police. In 1998 a mother did. No charges were pressed. An investigation was finally launched in 2009 after a mother went to Child Protective Services. The university did NOTHING to stop Sandusky even though they knew what he was up to.
“Hows that for justice?”
How awful! ARGH!
“But to state it as an absolute fact is wrong.”
Why? His legal bills are going to make your refusal to consider his culpability laughable.
Honor, decency, integrity, JUSTICE...support for the helpless.
New concepts to you?
It was McQueary’s responsibility to go the police. Why did he involve a third party who had nothing to do with it? If he witnessed a murder, would he have gone to Paterno? He should’ve gone directly to the police. That’s generally what people do if they see a crime in progress, especially something as horrible as the forcible rape of a child.
There are lots of guilty people and I am most certainly not denying that. My point has always been that Paterno is not the problem here.
See, this is an example of why I say that people have no idea what they are talking about.
I've been here since Monday, I have been following the situation through other outlets, and have talked to many Penn Staters not here.
I have not encountered a single ounce of support for Sandusky yet.
Exactly.
The visiting Nebraska fans seemed to grasp the situation pretty well.
