Yeah, I thought so too. Gee, wait until the rest find out they are going to get screwed too.
No you’re the jerk. I work for a competitor of MF. Their brokers, back office staff, customer service....the phone never rang more then twice 24/7 before someone picked up was unparalleled in the industry. I wished I could work for them. The folks who worked there were hard working good people with families who on the whole were free market advocates and voted republican. They worked hard long hours. So to delight in there moment of distress pretty much defines a jerk....
“No youre the jerk.”
I’m happy to take the arrows. I know those people too. I went to college with them. They had one thing in mind (hint: $$$$$$$$$$), so yea, they answered the phone. But they knew who they worked for, and if THEY CHOSE to live paycheck to paycheck, then that was their choice. I simply have no sympathy for them, given what was OBVIOUSLY going to happen.
Did they check Obama's campaign fund?
I’m shocked, just shocked.
Why?
Because Jon Corzine is a good Democrat. Good Democrats care about the little people, the common people. They have compassion for their employees. A good Democrat could never run an investment firm in this manner.
“So what if we drove our company into bankruptcy? That’s no reason to fire us.”
don’t you love liberal logic?
According to liberals...businesses exist to hire people so that they can provide them with health insurance.
Really really good all-inclusive health insurance.
This is odd isn’t it?
This is a good democrat who is ....firing people?
What’s up with that?
The common denominator of all the current scandals is Marxism.
The good thing they can collect 99 weeks of unemployment.
What are the mad at Corzine for? Corzine doesn’t work for MF Global these pissed off folks must be Tea Bagger haters. / sarc
Look on the bright side, Corzine is now available to work in the 0bama Administration.
Sadly BO doesn’t need Corzine’s help to ruin this country economically. He’s doing quite well all by hissself.
Translated it means he applied over and over for a job at MF but wasn’t good enough and is bitter.
For the record, when did it become obvious.
By the time there was revelation, me thinks it was too late. Where could they go, no where. They were trapped.
I think the same views are abound in the financial business. It is hard to tell the company is going to fail when you hire on
“For the record, when did it become obvious. By the time there was revelation, me thinks it was too late. Where could they go, no where. They were trapped.”
I agree that at some point they got trapped. But Cortisone has been out of power for 2 years now in New Jersey. There was certainly time for people that were willing to UNDERSTAND HIM to get away...but many didn’t. The money (and the lifestyle) was just too much to leave.
“Translated it means he applied over and over for a job at MF but wasnt good enough and is bitter.”
Not sure who “he” is, but I’m in Texas and I am nowhere near Cortisone. I also have enough COMMON SENSE not to hitch my career to a nutcase like him.
According to the examples in the story, many of the ex-employees had been there much longer than Corzine.
“According to the examples in the story, many of the ex-employees had been there much longer than Corzine.”
...and they were DUMB ENOUGH to stay when Cortisone took over. They got what they deserved.
