There was evidence early on that libertarians (in the Ron Paul school) and more middle of the road type people were participating. I saw interviews with them and signs they held. They weren’t all kooks from the beginning. Those people were focused on the bank bailouts and the fed (a la Ron Paul).
I think some of us could find common ground with people of that ilk even if we aren’t Ron Paul proponents.
But the kooks and leftists squelched that with all their demands for free stuff. That’s all that’s left.
“I think some of us could find common ground with people of that ilk even if we arent Ron Paul proponents.”
I could find common ground if the Occupiers all decided to occupy DC and demand accountability from our federal government.
But no. They’ve bought the class warfare rhetoric hook, line, and sinker, and turned on those who are struggling to keep their businesses alive and jobs available.
Fat cats will never feel the heat, they’re far too insulated. But a small retail business owner who has lost everything to the “movement” trashing the neighborhood will never recover in these harsh economic times.
And pushed to its logical conclusion, maybe EVERYBODY should just forget working and go on government assistance.
We’d all be living the good life then. Right?
