Kim Kardashian lives in a gilded bubble whose passage through the world is lubricated with the tears of servants and PR agents. She is a very important person who had a glancing, tangential relationship with our state for 72 days, and when she issues a critique of our place in the world, we need to listen.

I hope she likes to ice skate. maybe she can take up ice fishing, that’ll firm her buns up. she seems like she’s more at home on the slope or by the lodge fire

Lileks is a national treasure. I thought he had retired his pen, and am thrilled to see that he has not.

Kim Kardashian is rich riff raff, a Paris Hilton wannabe. That’s like saying a poor man’s Ford Pinto.

We’ll never know how Kim would have adapted to frozen Minny since she dumped Kris after a few scant weeks of “marriage.”

We are to honestly take seriosly the utterances of someone who makes their living pretending to be some one else?

Kim Kardashian is trailer trash with money. There are legions of these types in Hollywood and West Los Angeles. And yes they exist elsewhere in smaller concentrations.

I actually feel foolish talking about her and didn't even know who she was until I started to see her on Internet Posts and the like. I try to insulate myself from American Popular culture to the degree I can. But you really cannot not know who she is. And what she is, is disgusting. It seems like the only she has ever done is to make an x-rated video tape. And she has also been able to make a lot of money without any talent which I suppose is a talent in itself. Madonna previously was the foremost example of this. But Madonna could at least pretend she had talent, Kim Kardashian cannot even do that. (Both of these women owe their fame to the entertainment press.) She's had so much more than her 15 minutes that's it's pitiful. I wish she would go away.

It seems that Kim's initial fame came from her associations with Paris Hilton, as Paris' "BFF." Then Kim's fame began to eclipse Paris' fame.

And as with Paris, there was a sex tape released. Unfortunately, I actually viewed a bit of it, and have to say that it was the most un-erotic, boring movie of any type I think I've ever seen.

Shows how much I knew about Kardashian. I thought that was a national chain of Persian-style rug stores.

It seems to be unanimous: We're all hurting. Maybe the ache will fade with time. Maybe there won't come a day when a fella in a Pipestone bar pounds the table and says, "I can't take it anymore. I'm going out to LA to give that woman a piece of my mind," and his friends have to hold him back. Let it go, Jerry! Just let it go.

LOL classic. Lileks cracks me up. Have given his hilarious retro-memories books as gifts. I gotta get back in the habit of reading his blog.
