Mike McQueary, the assistant Nittany Lions coach who told a grand jury that in 2002 he saw former coach Jerry Sandusky sexually assault a young boy, has been placed on administrative leave. The move was announced by Penn State Interim President Rod Erickson at a news conference that began at 4 p.m.

What is it with these guys? The saw something illegal and didn’t report it...why?
Oh yeah, maybe face charges too. He would in my state.
Not really surprising...
And yet, the PRIMARY concern of Penn State still is not the KIDS, but maintainng the football revenue stream...
That can't be right. I am sure that PSU has devoted every effort to finding and helping these kids and I am sure that the football game is the last thing on there mind. Why they even released a statement about the game. Remember? The asked everyone to focus on what is important. They asked everyone to remember that we should not lose fact that this was the Senior game and we should focus our attention on those celebrations and not be diverted by the attention the scandal was getting.
And it sounds like Graham Spanier is still a tenured prof at PSU....
Does anyone think that the Rose Bowl is going to be associated with it?
Everyone associated with this crime will have to be removed from Penn State if it hopes ever to recover.
As it is now, people are infuriated at the foot dragging going on, when these steps should have been taken immediately.
It appears that these guys still don't understand the disgust and hatred against Penn State by most Americans.
Well, things might be starting to move in a positive direction. Rod Erikson, the interim university president, made a decision. Hopefully they'll come to a realization that the football program needs to be suspended for a couple of seasons to get everything in its proper perspective.
Good, now what about the other 2 scumbags that lied to the grand jury, why is the University protecting them? They all need to go.
Is it true they’re going to change their name to “Ped State”?
Before you bash McQueary, consider that he is the only witness the prosecution has to Sandusky raping anyone, other than the victims. Without him, it’s “he said...he said,” and it’s frightened boys vs. a powerful, well-connected adult. McQ did report the crime, he did testify before the grand jury. It’s not his fault that the higher-ups went into coverup mode to protect the university.
I read where schultz was in charge of the campus police, then did nothing regarding police involvement.
It’s in big trouble. Imagine your Division I recruited son comes to you and says: “Dad, I can go to Ohio State, Iowa, or Penn State, what do you think?”
As a father of two boys, one of them 10, I think I know how I’d respond to that.
It’s going to be along while before this wears off. IF...it wears off. Even my 14 year old, who’s seen the reports on ESPN and began asking questions said to me: “Why wouldn’t that graduate assistant stop him?”
I wish I had an answer for him.
[What is it with these guys? The saw something illegal and didnt report it...why?]
His career was more important than stopping the rape of young boys. He only talked because he was afraid that one of the Grand Jury victims could be the one that he had witnessed being raped and would identify him, imho.
Lol!
According to Erickson at the presser he just gave, Spanier could even return to teaching.
“Oh yeah, maybe face charges too. He would in my state.”
So far he is off the hook on state charges, but I’m starting to think they may all be worried about Federal charges.
Paterno has contacted a big time DC criminal defense attorney. Maybe not for good reason, but maybe for very good reason.
