Intersting analysis, aside from the off hand dismissal of Cain.

Cain is done. Let’s turn the page. I just have a horrible feeling that MR is going to be the nominee. I’m backing Newt till the end. GO BC!

Sure since Cain has raised 100 times the money Newt has, and Since Cain is still at the top of all the polls, we should dump Cain for Newt
Get a grip.

Cain is done. He's the only one to vote FOR. Otherwise, this is going to be another McCain type election.
Romney has been chosen, so most people won't bother voting. He has nothing to offer anyone on the right. Democrats love him, though.
To: maineman
I hope Cain still has a chance. Media's attacks will influence independents, and Cain needs independents to beat Obama. Initially I wondered about the harassment accusations. But when Gloria became part of the picture, I figured they are bogus.
Liberals apparently fear Cain has a chance. Why else is Jay Leno devoting a huge part of his show ridiculing Cain? Leno used to be abnormally obsessed with Palin, then with Bachmann. Now it's like a crusade against Cain. Letterman the hypocrite also apparently is attacking Cain in spite of his own record on harassment.

It is what it is, folks: We've found our man to take down Romney & Obama.
Conservative Cain rides high while Perry and the other conservatives are on life support.
AND BTW..

Cain? He is the least articulate candidate we have..no thanks. He can’t even explain how the federal reserve works..wasn’t he on the board? He’s exciting and has some cool sound bites..but he’s not a candidate I want to support.

To: maineman
least articulate? You are nuts. He’s made a career out of being quite articulate. In business, radio, politics, he’s an excellent communicator.

Cain is looking better, IMO. One of my principal reservations about him was that he appeared weak. I like how he is dealing with these attacks. Direct, proactive and uncompromising.
His stock is rising but I am not quite ready to buy.
Watching closely though, and liking what I see.

Who is your 2nd choice then?
Latest poll from Iowa has Cain 23, Romney 19, Gingrich 15, Paul 11, Perry 9 is.gd/G9e1Vh

here a clue for you. GOP voters do not support Candidates who spend their time trash talking the other candidates. They support candidates who make themselves the obvious leader on issues.
Rather then mindlessly trash talking Cain with childish personal attacks, make a case for your candidate.

I’d like to buy the arguments in the piece, but tuned out at point 2. I don’t think the field is weak, and he lists Trump and Perry as serious front runners. Trump was never serious, and Perry began fading within weeks of entering.

I agree the field is not weak except for Perry. Yet Democrats are using Perry’s gaffes as “guilt by association” to ridicule all of the candidates, notably Cain. Jay Leno has spent an incredible amount of time trashing Cain and some of his comments re Cain and Bachmann could be viewed as close to libel.
