NYPD sends elite detectives to Wall St. protests

The NYPD has moved three elite Manhattan homicide detectives and a deputy chief to the raucous Occupy Wall Street protest in response to a rash of sex attacks, thefts and vandalism -- including graffiti scrawled on the nearby 9/11 Memorial, The Post has learned.

The veteran detectives, normally assigned to Manhattan South, are now working cases at Zuccotti Park on an as-needed basis, law-enforcement sources said.

Just a thought, but drunk and passed out in a tent, in a park where police are unwelcome, is not the way I would want to spend the night in a high crime area. I feel sad for the women who have received such poor parenting that they think that plan makes any sense at all.

Always smart to condemn a large gropup for the action of a few. Blame this entire fiasco on Mayor Bloomberg. I had my problems with Giuliani, but this would have NEVER happened if he was still the Mayor. To paraphrase Rudy “if you want to stay in NYC overnight, get a hotel room.” Nuff said
