I always laugh about the liberals embrace of electric cars.

The car batteries need to be re-charged, and the electricity to re-charge these batteries often comes from coal fired power plants. So arguably, if we had millions of electric cars on the road, we would need to sharply increase generation from fossil fuel power plants.

Have any liberals calculated the carbon footprint of re-charging electric cars???

Or do liberals think we can generate enough power from solar, windmills, and ocean waves????

Do liberals know where electricity comes from? I think they over simplify this issue. Yes, an electric car itself operates pollution free, but its power has to be generated somehow.

“...pollution free...” might be a stretch...battery disposal seeems to be a significant issue.

Liberals call electricity ‘clean energy’ because they are pie-in-the-sky idiots and fools. They are very much like children.

If you ask a Liberal where the electricity for their car comes from, they will tell you that when the unicorns are pooping rainbows, natural electricity is made which somehow automatically recharges my car.

Libs are idiots. Their fanatic adherence to whatever the Leftist ideology de juer is prohibits them from thinking thing through. Libs just do what they are told to do by the elite. They don’t care if it is right or wrong.

Come on now, “everyone” knows electricity is generated inside the wall of your home by the combination of steel nails and chinese drywall.

Exactly right. The strongest argument in years past for EVs was you could power them with central power stations which had the most modern environmental controls. The theory was it was easier and more cost-effective to apply the controls to a few central stations rather than to millions of automobiles. In effect, you were moving the pollution sources out of the dense cities to remote power plants.

But that argument has gone completely out the window because the tremendous technical advances in automotive emission controls and fuels have gotten cleaner as well. So there really isn’t any sane justification for EVs any more.

Everybody has lost sight of the original justification and why it no longer fits today’s conditions. If you ask the average person about the advantages of EVs, you won’t get a cogent (or even sane) answer. But there are HUGE disadvantages from poor range, long recharge times, extremely shortened range if you run your heater or AC, high consumption rates of rare earth minerals, toxic waste, high capital cost, high cost of replacing battery packs, etc.

Really, they are nothing but a badge for liberals to brag “I care more than you.”

Current bushes! If we just plant current bushes all along the highway then people can charge their cars whenever they want to and do it for free. Everyone knows the sun puts a charge in the current bushes when no one is using them...

Not really, I'm being sarcastic...but they are just about that simplistic in their mindview.

Maybe the Volt owners can get windmills or solar panels on their garages...
