OAKLAND, Calif. — A man was shot Thursday near the Oakland encampment where anti-Wall Street protesters have been occupying for the last month.
The shooting happened just before 5 p.m. on the edge of the plaza outside Oakland City Hill. The Occupy Oakland encampment sits in the middle of the plaza.

The Occupy Oakland encampment sits in the middle of the plaza. Yup. There it sits. Darndest thing. One day, it was the good old plaza. Next day, why, there was an encampment sitting there. Just sitting. Not doin' nothin'. Sitting.
I mean, if I were that reporter, I would have written it like this:
"The Occupy Oakland encampment occupies the middle of the plaza."
I mean, you know, in honor of the name they've given themselves.

Soon the leftist politicians who welcomed these protests will be faced with the choice of watching with the rest of us the increasing violence within these infestations or sending in cops to crack skulls.
Either way they're screwed.

But, yes, the police are saying the Vermont shooting was self-inflicted.

Perhaps they were discussing the allocation of the 20K in donations the OWS group deposited at Wells Fargo. I wouldn't think anyone would be so reckless as to deliberately fire a weapon in downtown Oakland. That carries severe punishments and fines. :)
