I don’t think he was murdered.
He was searching on his home computer for topics like how to wipe your hard drive, will water destroy a laptop, etc.
I think he pulled a disappearing act, for reasons best known only to him, and since he’s been declared legally dead (as of this year), I’d say he pulled it off pretty successfully.
Another poster speculated he could be in Slovenia, as he’d traveled there to visit family a few times. It’s possible. It’s not so easy nowadays to disappear, but it can still be done.
I would think all he would have to do in order to spike the case would be to not prosecute. Overwrite new files on top of the old ones, or not investigate the case to begin with. Or even take the laptop to Slovenia with you.
Are we certain it was Gricar that did the searches? Maybe his computer had a virus and those files were put there, or else a friend (possibly the girlfriend) used his computer and put them there.

That’s an explanation that fits the evidence at hand.
Just did some research on D.A. Gricar — spooky — this guy looks familiar to me, like I have seen him somewhere. Could it be he’s hiding out, been bought off, and thinks nobody will know who he is. Now with his face being shown in the news — if he’s out there — he’s sure to be found.
