Before the Salem media trials begin, let us apply some reason.
It was not PennState, it was certain persons employed by the U who did not do their jobs or perform their proper duties as citizens. Find out who they are and act accordingly. The institution should not suffer; just the wrongdoers.
I bet the Obambutts are dancing happy that someone has taken the economy off the front pages.
It was not Penn State?? Are you kidding? It appears the upper echelons of the University admin were fully complicit in a cover-up. How can you say such a thing??
if an INSTITUTION fails to act to stop behavior such as this, the INSTITUTION deserves to suffer the consequences. keeping this secret for this long indicates a systemic problem, derived from protecting its athletic program. It’s lamentable that PSU grads and and students have to be tarred with this brush, but the University clearly is culpable here.
Do you think the Penn State football program should receive the NCAA death penalty for 2 years because of the behavior of persons in authority over that program? Or is such a penalty only proper for schools that do really, really bad stuff — like provide athletes improper payments?
