What he said was twice as shocking as anything that's been released thus far.
"I can give you a rumor and I can give you something I think might happen," Madden told John Dennis and Gerry Callahan. "I hear there's a rumor that there will be a more shocking development from the Second Mile Foundation -- and hold on to your stomachs, boys, this is gross, I will use the only language I can -- that Jerry Sandusky and Second Mile were pimping out young boys to rich donors. That was being investigated by two prominent columnists even as I speak."
Madden also spoke more definitively to the cover-up efforts at the school and beyond that he expects will be made public soon.
"The other thing I think that may eventually become uncovered, and I talked about this in my original article back in April, is that I think they'll find out that Jerry Sandusky was told that he had to retire in exchange for a cover-up," Madden said. "If you look at the timeline, that makes perfect sense, doesn't it?

NCAA steps up (FINALLY)...
President Emmert’s statement on Penn State
Regarding the ongoing Penn State criminal investigation, the NCAA is actively monitoring developments and assessing appropriate steps moving forward. The NCAA will defer in the immediate term to law enforcement officials since this situation involved alleged crimes.
As the facts are established through the justice system, we will determine whether Association bylaws have been violated and act accordingly. To be clear, civil and criminal law will always take precedence over Association rules.
Mark Emmert
President, NCAA
1988: Jerry Sandusky Says Second Mile A MAJOR Reason In Turning Down Temple
Via Jerrys hometown newspaper, the Observer-Reporter Dec. 21, 1988:
From my standpoint the options were very attractive. With the option of staying at Penn State there are so many things here. Theres the university, the football program, the community, everything that Im involved with in working with kids. Those are meaningful parts of my life.
Sandusky admitted his community commitments, including The Second Mile home for troubled youths and a rapidly growing foster parents program, played a major factor in his decision. His parents, Art and Evie Sandusky, moved to State College nearly two years ago to help Jerry in the administration of those programs.
I'm not optimistic about this 'all coming out.' I don't understand much about the homosexual/pedophile culture, but these things have happened before, with lots of indications that "it's going to go much further," and then it fizzles out and dies on the vine. I think these people are wealthy, intelligent, well-connected, and know how to work together as a team to protect their interests.
As that guy on the audio said "look how brilliant this is," referring to Sandusky's "Second Mile" foundation, the money he raised to fund it, and how that foundation served to supply him with an endless river of vulnerable young boys.
The idea that he kept those "riches" to himself and didn't trade them to like-minded men is very hard to believe. "I'll rape 'em, but I won't pimp 'em." Yeah, right.

Only one job for Sandusky // He wants to succeed Paterno
Patriot-News, The (Harrisburg, PA) - Sunday, December 29, 1991
Author: Ronnie Christ, Patriot News
TEMPE, Arizona When Jerry Sandusky said no to Maryland, he did more than turn down another head football coaching job.
The Penn State defensive coordinator was actually saying the only head coaching position he really wants is to succeed Joe Paterno.
There are no assurances that Sandusky will get the Penn State job when Paterno finally does step down in about five years.
Yesterday, during workouts here for Penn State’s Jan. 1 Fiesta Bowl clash with Tennessee, Sandusky went on record as the first candidate of the future.
“I’d love to be a head coach,” he said. “I’d love to be a head coach at Penn State.
“As far as the Maryland situation, it’s funny, because a few years ago I said that if I did leave, the Maryland job was one that appealed to me.
“I even put together a plan I thought they needed to be successful. When their athletic director talked to me, I thought about it for two days and decided to stay here.”
Sandusky has turned down a number of jobs over the years. His ties to Penn State and to the Second Mile , which he founded, have always kept him on Paterno’s staff.
The Second Mile provides housing and guidence for young kids in trouble.
“I’ve talked to Joe numerous times, and he’s told me to do whatever I want to do and he would support me. It seems emotion always plays a part in my decisions.
“When word got out that I might leave, one of the kids in the program called me. He wasn’t concerned about me. He was worried that our camp programs was going to end.
“I have a lot of challenges in my life in terms of trying to do a job for our defense and continuing the programs for The Second Mile .
“Although it was exciting to put together something like that for Maryland, I guess it comes down to I like what I’m doing and I don’t want to risk giving that up.”
Sandusky earned three letters as a defensive end at Penn State, where he graduated first in his class and earned a master’s degree in health and physical eductation.
He coached at Juniata and Boston University before returning to his alma mater in 1969. He will be 51 when Paterno is slated to step down in 1996.
Will he still want the job five or maybe even 10 years from now?
Sandusky answered with a laugh, “Well, there’s a mandatory retirement in the state of Pennsylvania. I may be retired before he [Paterno] does.
“There’s no assurance of that. You have to live with that possibility. Obviously, I’ve dreamed about doing that.
“There were no assurances at Maryland, either. I want to do what I’m doing as well as I can do it and whatever happens, happens.”

Though not listed in the form 990, all contributors to 501(c)’s are public records and I’m sure that some enterprising reporters are going through those lists even now.
I agree. We have seen how these things go in the past and usually the perps and enablers walk. It truly is sickening and what’s even more outrageous is that some people want to politicize it. It doesn’t matter to me if the people that did this are dems, republicans or OWS’ers..if this is true, they should be hung up and shot.

Knute Rockne once described State College, PA as being “equally inaccessible from all directions”.
It was an apt description. Very isolated, self-contained community, surrounded by mountains and miles and miles of nothing. An ideal environment for keeping secrets “in the family”, at least in the pre-Internet era.
DA Who Never Charged Sandusky Has Been Missing Since 2005
""People ask why Ray did not prosecute, and I have no problem saying, because he clearly felt he didn't have a case for a 'successful' prosecution," Tony Gricar, Ray Gricars nephew , told The Patriot-News.
"... One thing I can say is that Ray was beholden to no one, was not a politician."
This district attorney who had a bitter taste in his mouth for the [Penn State] program, and its coach, according to his nephew, and yet never prosecuted Sandusky, disappeared on April 15, 2005 after telling his girlfriend that he was going on a drive.
Ray Gricars car was found the next day in a Lewisburg parking lot and his laptop, sans hard drive, was found in the Susquehanna River, according to the Patriot-News.
Ray Gricars friend, Montour County District Attorney Robert Buehner Jr., told the New York Times that if the ardent district attorney had committed suicide, he would have wanted his body found. But in the case of possible foul play, no suspects have emerged from investigations.
When it comes to the Sandusky case, friends and former co-workers are all of the opinion that Ray Gricar would never back down from a righteous prosecution.
No one got a bye with Ray, Anthony De Boef, who was an assistant district attorney under Gricar for five years told the NY Times. He didnt care who you were; he had a job to do.
And, despite the fact that Ray Gricar had the mother of one of the alleged victims confront Sandusky while police listened, the 1998 report on Sandusky was labeled unfounded by the District Attorneys Office, reports the Patriot-News.
I would say this about Ray: He would be extremely cautious in proceeding because he wanted to make sure that there would be a reasonable likelihood of conviction, Buehner told the Patriot News. You dont want to go after someone high profile unless you have a compelling case.
As for the 2002 incident, in which a graduate assistant told Penn State coach Joe Paterno that he witness Sandusky raping a 10-year-old boy in the PSU locker rooms, there is no indication that Ray Gricar was notified, reports the Patriot-Times.

????What names, dates and places were on that hard drive????
From the VERY FIRST second this hit the news, my response was
FOLLOW THE $$$$.
The College & Pro Sports programs in this country have grown, like malignant tumors, WAY WAY WAY beyond their rightful and sensible place in American Life today. They unfortunately are filling major voids in the lives of far too many Americans.
The amount of money involved is simply staggering, and when available funds reach those levels, ANYONE can get ANYTHING they want done by simply spreading a bit of “petty cash” around. For those involved in this industry, petty cash can be hundreds of thousands of bucks.
Look at the LA Dodgers scandal. The owners were using it as a personal piggy bank to fund their outrageous lifestyles, allowed attempted murder in their parking lot (Brian Stowe’s lifetime medical expenses have been estimated as high as a BILLION bucks) and ran it into BK and yet estimates are the sale will STILL bring in at least a BILLION BUCKS!!!
Witness protection program???

Months later, D.A.’s fate remains a riddle - There is a rising belief that Ray Gricar of Centre County is dead. Sightings of him in other states have not checked out. D.A.’s whereabouts remain a riddle
Philadelphia Inquirer, The (PA) - Tuesday, September 6, 2005
Author: Larry Eichel INQUIRER STAFF WRITER
It’s been almost five months now since the Friday morning in April when Centre County District Attorney Ray Gricar left his home in this mountainside county seat and drove east on Route 192.
And then disappeared.
His car was found the next night in Lewisburg, 60 miles from home, in a dirt parking lot near the Susquehanna River.
To this day, investigators have no idea what happened to him or how they might find out.
There is the possibility that Gricar , 59, who called his live-in girlfriend from the road to say only he wouldn’t be home to take out the dog at noon, ended his own life.
Or that he decided to walk away from it all. Or was murdered, perhaps by someone he had prosecuted or was about to.
Some folks in town think he is in the witness protection program, though they can’t tell you why he would be.
But the passage of time and the discovery of a key piece of evidence five weeks ago - Gricar ‘s laptop computer, fished out of the Susquehanna River in Lewisburg - have caused those closest to the case to believe that he’s dead.
“I think it’s a homicide,” said Bellefonte Police Officer Darrel Zaccagni, the frustrated lead investigator in the case, who has sought the help of the state police, the FBI, the Attorney General’s Office, and a psychic from California.

Agreed. The fact that Sandusky got caught in the act on more than one occasion only emboldened his behavior. Once he saw that he could get away with it, he probably stepped it up a notch.
Before this is over, I expect hundreds of victims to come forward due to the access that Sandusky had to such a large pool of victims. At this point, Sandusky has to be keenly aware of the extremely high mortality rate for child rapists in our prison system. I expect him to be crying like a little bitch telling all he knows before this is over. You can bet that right now someone in Pennsylvania government is crunching the numbers trying to estimate how much their liability could be in this case. And at the federal level, you have hundreds of trial lawyers connected to the Obama Administration who see another source of money that can be looted.
In fact, read the first two comments on his blog, responding to his post back in April. People didn't believe him then, either. Not that it makes him right now.
But this has been going on since at least 1994. And pedophiles tend to know pedophiles, from what we read. And whether those other pedophiles were at Penn State or elsewhere, Sandusky had a source of boys through The Second Mile.
Dottie Gross [on the left], Sandusky's wife. Had to have known.
Read earlier too that the US Dept of Ed is getting involved....maybe they have the goods?
