This has less to do with the legal system, and more to do with a moral system. We don't have to rely on the State or a judge or a legal outcome to dictate our actions. The board at Penn State can observe, listen, and make their own decisions. Don't let the legal systen displace common sense or morality in decision making. PSU fired him, they didn't send him to prison.

Would you fire your nanny if you found out she was Casey Anthony, or would you defer to the legal system that acquitted her? If I showed you video of an employee stealing from your store, would you fire them immediately, or would you let them work until after the trial?

Joe Paterno was fired by the Penn State board of trustees Wednesday night.

Bingo...

Besides, Paterno's legal testimony before the Grand Jury coupled with NCAA bylaws 2.4 on ethics was enough for the trustees to dump Paterno.

Thanks, all, for your responses. As to mine, I can see where I was being a bit arch, a bit ignorant, and definitely not as thoughtful as most of you were. My sincere apologies. I’m still a bit disturbed that Paterno was let go prior to even Hearing One on the matter, but I can see where your hearts are as to the circumstances of this awful case. As usual, FReepers hearts are in the right place.
