Even within our FR community, there are a lot of disagreements about Joe Paterno's situation. Our son has demonstrated support for the coach while expressing his disgust over the allegations. I can understand that he doesn't think he has all the facts and that we're dealing with someone who has contributed a great deal to the university over many years. As long as his behavior is civilized and respectful, I am not at all embarrassed that he's with students who are supporting the coach. I don't have to agree with all of his opinions to support him in expressing his position - provided it's done respectfully. It's part of growing up.
Those students turned over a media van. Great examples they surely are.
I don’t give a damn he won over 400 games. Nothing he does makes up for failing to report this to police and allowing Sandusky to continue to associate with the program.
