1962 - Cuban Missile Crisis - has it lasted another week.
1973 - Mid-East war, when Moscow threatened to back Egypt against Israel.
(most folks don’t know this was much more serious than 1962, as U.S. had nukes on highest alert ever.)

OK, no, that one is fine, and so is the phone (landline, it’s Comcast) as well as my cell phone.

I have no idea how they could have screwed it up that badly. Hey, it's Obummer at his finest. I thought maybe he was still out on the golf course and NOTHING can drag him off the links or away from his ice cream cone after. But there was no test here but then we Texans are independent souls.

and like OMG like I didn't even know we were being invaded or something, it was like soooo weird. I hope they're friendly.........

KLBJ AM had the test, and it was messed up audio. I thought of it as a speaker inside a rusty 55 gallon barrel.

I work in a radio station, it was a mess.
For a week now the station attorney has been forwarding us emails from the FCC about this test, and I am sure billed us $60 for each email that he sent. I had two station engineers in the studio that insisted they were prepared for this stupid test. At 2pm, the engineers did not have the right channel open and started pushing buttons. Then finally we got the tone...then silence.
Thank goodness the board operator last night went online and read what was supposed to occur. She opened the mike, read the silly prepared text from the FCC and we were done. Great, our lowest paid employee was the only one that knew what to do.
I can’t tell you how much time we wasted on this.

LMAO!
You just need one of those new Lithium battery packs!
Watch out though, they tend to discharge instantly and fully.... its been a problem for tech support who are threatening to spin up the weather machine and test zot Karl Rove and James Carville if they get stuned again.
LOL

Yeah turns out that Time Warner here in SoCal had some issue where it froze instead of going back to normal. When I called them it said in the recording not to unplug the cable box, that they would be fixing things from their end. What an epic fail on their part, I knew something wasn’t right, an emergency alert is not supposed to last half an hour LOL
To: Sarah Barracuda
Similar story here! My DVR (DishTV on FNC) won't back up past about 1202pm mnt time.
Never saw anything happen, so maybe they simply used one of those MEN IN BLACK flashy-memory-messer-upper-thingies.
