I recall hearing that Cain never even knew of the second one, which allegedly was made after he had left the NRA. I was wondering myself if sex harassment complaints are always filed against one individual or if they sometimes assert a "hostile work environment" mentioning several people. Anyone know?
Frankly, until I learn of credible evidence about “the second one”, my opinion is that the number of women (certainly not “ladies”) and claims involved has gotten mixed up. My opinion is that there only two who we all know about, plus that non-claim made by woman in Egypt who was too scared to tell the “lovely young” lady about Cain but then managed enough courage to go to dinner with him anyway.
As for the harassment claims process, I’m pretty sure a formal legal complaint was never filed or there’d be a record of it. In that case, however, I doubt any individual would have to be specifically named in the legal complaint (although I could be wrong and that could also depend on state law) although the place of employment certainly would. Obviously, specific names would have to come out at some point in the process.
When I think of “complaints” in this case, I think of Krushaar(sp) walking into the HR department and complaining about specific people and incidents. A report is made, obviously names would have to come out, and HR and Legal Dept. would question people and work with the complainer’s attorney if she got one. Situation ends with the complaint getting dropped, a formal legal complaint being filed, or most likely, a separation agreement and severance package.
Bottom line is that she may well have mentioned multiple people including Mr. Cain, or just Mr. Cain, but she’d have to name names at some point or it would go nowhere.
It would also be interesting to know what Ms. K’s situation at the NRA was at the time of her complaint. If she was on the chopping block or even in rough waters and was/is devious enough she could have raised the issue just so that she did not get canned the traditional way and make some money at the same time.
