I listened to a replay of the Beck show and it certainly sounds like Amy Jacobson saw Bialek at the Tea Party deal a month ago and talking in Cain’s ear for about three minutes. I believe she said they hugged and he had his arm around her for the entire time. Jacobson recognized her because she had worked in the radio biz in Chicago in various functions so it wasn’t a case of mistaken identity.
When I heard Cain say he had never seen Bialek until he saw her with her lawyer on TV, I took it as a bold face lie and a bad one since it can be easily confronted.
Maybe, just maybe Cain has a bad memory but if I had had my arm around Bialek for 3 minutes and had her talk in my ear, I’d have at least recognized her or at least questioned whether I did or not.
I was hoping he would put some nails in the coffin of this topic but given this statement of his, I’d have to say it’s more open now than ever.
I hope he can come up with an extremely believable explanation for this but I doubt it.
Ooops, just had a thought.... Bialek just had her hair done yesterday and looked a lot different than she did today. She couldn’t keep her hair out of her eyes yesterday, covering half of her face, but had no problem today. I myself might think these were two different women from their TV appearances. So maybe Cain could have been confused if he had only met her twice and her appearance today is more normal for her. Anyway... I do have to say I thought he lied.
So, whom do you drag your knees for?
In my gut I feel the same way even though I don't want to. If he lied, he's toast.
Where do we go from here? How do we somehow talk Palin into coming out of retirement?
If he would have said, “My associates tell me that I met her a few weeks ago at a public event, but I still don’t remember her,” would you still say he was lying about not remembering her?
Obviously, he has met thousands of people over the past few weeks. I would have been extremely surprised if he would have remembered her on his own.
Sure, once someone points it out to him and refreshes his memory, he might recall something about having met her, but to say that he’s lying right now about not remembering her when he watched the press conference is just pure speculation on your part.
I watched Mr. Cain’s presser. Having lived in West Oakland, CA for almost 10 years and encountered numerous liars and crooks every single day, you develop a finely tuned BS meter as a matter of survival.
Mr. Cain isn’t lying about not remembering her. There is no motivation for him to lie about meeting her or not meeting her a few weeks ago.
Back about 10 years ago, sure he has motivation to lie about that meeting, but not concerning the most recent encounter during a meet-n-greet encounter.
No motivation to lie equals no lie.
However, that’s not going to stop the Lame Stream Media and folks like you from thinking he’s lying about it just because they (the LSM) have a radio show co-host (Amy Jacobson) who remembers Sharon Bialek meeting him-—And, the only reason Amy Jacobson remembers it is because Sharon Bialek was drinking Mimosas with her (Amy’s) friends and then raised some sort of ruckus to meet Mr. Cain: “I recall Sharon was hell bent on going backstage at the TeaCon convention — where she cornered him,” said Jacobson.
To Mr. Cain, she was just another face in the crowd; easily forgotten.
But hey, you believe what you want. I won’t hold it against you. I’m just saying that you are wrong on this one.
