You must be very exceptional. Nuisance lawsuits are a fact of life. And two lawsuits in 20 years is pretty good for an organization with thousands of employees. Its just standard practice to settle them.
Two lawsuits in 20 years?? Cain had two women file complaints against him in the less than THREE years he worked at NRA. I had complaints filed against me for discrimination based on sex, race, HIV status, and by a cross dresser because I would not let him change into his sun dress in the womens’ locker room.
Our orgainization chose to fight all of them and we paid out a grand total of $3500 for one after we expended over $20k in legal fees. Most large orgainizations have EPLI insurance to cover cases like Cain’s.
My theory:
And some people here forget that when he was head of the NRA, he lobbied against government regulations on the restaurant industry.
Karen Kraushaar worked in the Government Affairs office of the NRA. She filed an internal complaint, it was found to have no merit, but she was let go and given a severance agreement which indicated no liability. Cain was never even a party to that document. It was between her, the corporate attorneys and BENNETT.
As we know, Bennett has ties to Podesta (Clinton’s Chief of Staff) This was only a few years after Cain faced off with Clinton on Hillarycare.
There is more than enough motive there for someone to go after Cain.
The 2nd settlement, I do not know that it really exists. The NRA has said nothing about it. Cain’s campaign maintains he knows nothing about it. So far, only Politico claims to know about it, and I’m sorry but their credibility is shot. They cannot even get in contact with the 2nd woman, whose story was built around one phone call to her.
ANYWAY... even without all that motive. There are plenty of FReepers who have either been business owners, or HR professionals or attorneys who have come on these threads and explained how these things go. Some people would just rather believe this is a smoking gun.
