As Occupy Wall Street droned on about the evils of corporate avarice last month, a multimillion-dollar international scandal broke in Bogotá, exposing greed and corruption in the "nongovernmental organization" (NGO) world of human rights.

José Alvear Restrepo Lawyers Collective (Cajar) sued in the Inter-American Human Rights Court (IHRC) in San José, Costa Rica for a 1997 "massacre" at the hamlet of Mapiripán.
They claimed 49 people were killed and the Colombian army was at fault. They settled for $8 million dollars. But after the fact it appears the confirmed dead totalled 6, not 49. And they knew it.
It appears that FARC (Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia) supporters are using the legal system to defeat the Colombian army.

Not surprised. It's been known for some time these NGO’s are working with FARC against the Colombian government.

Yes, correct. But in this case the NGO’s are working with and helping the Commie Subversives in Colombia.
Is that a crime? I suspect it is in a country that respects the rule of law.

It is no surprise that many of the NGOs out there are fronts for one faction or another. The crime is in the mutually profitable fraud.
