Herman Cain and the experience factor

People use many words today without fully knowing what they mean — or should mean. "Tolerance," "gender" and "truth" come to mind. But then there is one that rears its head every campaign season: "experience."

We've heard this word a lot lately during discussion of latest GOP frontrunner Herman Cain. Many have warned that while he may be appealing and engaging, he lacks the experience to take the helm of the world's only superpower. Some of these critics say that Cain's supporters are making the same mistake Barack Obama's did in 2008: they're choosing a greenhorn based only on a cult of personality. But the mistake is on the critics' part. Because whatever Cain may or may not be, inexperience is not his problem. In fact, I'm going to shock you.

It never was Obama's.

What makes a good president is executive experience- the ability to lead and inspire, and the skills to delegate. Career politicians not wanted.

Why was Obama not judged by the same standard.

ONE thing I like about Herman Cain is that he is NOT a politician!

We'd be better off choosing leaders by throwing darts at phone books than by continuing to elect career politicians.

We have already seen where the THUGS IN WASHINGTON are taking us and our country!

"Don't trust your soul to no backwoods Southern lawyer"

But note tagline!

And whom might I ask is?

We have 40-something people do this job and the best would have been seen as the worse if they just ran today.

The only way to get things going back in the right direction is to admit some monumentally huge policy mistakes were made over the past 30 years, and to correct course.

Asking the same people who publicly arbited for those policy SNAFUs, and in many cases have taken good money to do so, to even admit the problems, much less try to reverse them, is probably not the best way to approach things. Especially with preening politicians who know that nothing, and I mean NOTHING is worse politically than admitting fault.

We’ve got maybe 5 good years left by my count before things really come apart at the seams. Better get someone in there who isn’t too personally invested in seeing the same broken policies continued.

Herman's lack of experience is what is appealing...

He doesn't have to know politics...He will have innumerable expert advisers, civilian and military; think tanks at his beck and call...

All we need is an intelligent person who can make intelligent decisions on the information provided to him...

I like Cain. But it’s obvious that none of you actually read the article. If you did, you’d be able to make the case for Cain in a more intelligent way.
