Perry Operative Chris Wilson Accuses Cain Of Sexual Harassment…To Politico, Of Course
The Conservative Review ^ | 11/2/11 | Marcus Porcius

Oh, and remember how in the title of this post I called him a Perry operative? That’s because if you go down almost to the very end of the story, there’s this minor detail:

Wilson is a Rick Perry supporter and does polling for a Super PAC that supports the Texas governor’s presidential bid.

Well, then there’s less and less to the accusations as we trace them out. It’s just an echo chamber.

Given that dozena of people in Washington knew of these allegations from Cain’s days as the head of the National Restaurant Association (I know because we know an outside lobbyist for that association and have for years and his wife told my wife that these allegations were going to come out weeks and weeks before the Politico article) what you say we know proves exactly nothing and is far from likely. Washington gossip is pernicious and the people inclined to use it most readily are the desparate characters surrounding the One in the Oval Office. Niether Governor Perry nor Governor Romney would have the same access to prevalant Washington gossip whereas the One in the Oval Office and his folks could not avoid being aware of it.

The meme Political/Media complex is trying to establish is that ALL the republican candidates are dwarfs and moon bats.

Putting Rick Perry’s name in an article by a hack reporter doesn’t necessarily mean that Rick Perry was a part of this mess;

Perry’s Kurt worked for Cain back in 2003 or thereabouts.

Cain himself told Perry’s Kurt of these charges.

Cain knows that the Perry campaign knows this stuff.

Perry’s Kurt denied being the source, and Cain accepted that.

But that’s as close a tie, a 100% proven tie.

And standard operating procedure for the Perry campaign is to lie.

In addition, this.

You miss the point. As assertion that the Perry campaign or any supporter of Perry launched this rumer via Politico has no basis. Dozens of people in Washington with no connection to Perry or his campaign and are not supporters of Perry knew of the allegations in question. Any one of them could have been the source or the lead to the sourcing of the story. Washington is full of insider circulated knowledge of this sort. Anyone hearing it, particularly anyone with a desire to damage the Republican candidate race could have dug out the story. Because people connected with the Perry campaign or who support Perry knew of the allegations does not prove that any such person, thereby, was the source of the Politico story. Frankly, leaping to such unsupported conclusions does not impress anyone with the acuity of the person leveling the accusations.

Your ugly, irrational bias does not contribute much to any rational discussion and would hardly persuade anyone that there is any truth or validity in your assertions.

But Perry’s staffers are still peddling these lies.

No other candidates are peddling these lies.

Only Perry.

I don’t believe that you have successfully identified any lie that a “Perry staffer” has peddled. Vague and unsupported allegations seem to be your stock in trade. Perhaps your tag should be “untruth and misinformation.”

Cain said yesterday that he didn’t do anything inappropriate.

Perry’s Wilson said that Cain acted inappropriately.

Someone is telling the truth and someone is lying.

Either Cain is lying or Perry is lying.

Wilson does not work on Perry’s staff, either as governor as a candidate. He works for a PAC that technically, while it supports Perry is not controlled by Perry or managed by him as a matter of law. Wilson said he witnessed behavior he thought was inappropriate and he described the behavior. Cain said he has never sexually harrassed anybody and did not specifically deny what Wilson said he witnessed. To stretch this into an accusation that Perry has lied has nothing to do with truth or freedom. Rational discourse supported by facts does not seem to be your strong suit.

Putting Rick Perry’s name in an article by a hack reporter doesn’t necessarily mean that Rick Perry was a part of this mess;

So lets walk this one a little. So you are raising money for the Perry campaign and obviously since this is your business there is a commission attached. Can we agree on that?

If so, then who in their right mind would go out and make a public statement saying anything about the story unless you checked with your benefactor first?

Connecting the dots is far more of an exercise that just drawing lines between dots.

Point is, PERRY’S Superpac.

Not Romney’s superpac, or Obama’s superpac. Or Roemer or Johnson. Or anybody else.

PERRY’S.

So, it’s TEAM PERRY that are the dirt merchants against Cain.

Now we have that cleared up.

You seem to have a problem with logic. There is absolutely no proof that Wilson was the source of the Politico story. When approached after the story he said he was not the source of it but stated that he had witnessed the behavior he then described. As I have pointed out there were dozens of people in Washington who knew of these allegations and in fact my wife and I were told by people that we have known for years that these allegations were going to surface many weeks before they did. The husband of the couple is a lobbyist for, among others, the National Restaurant Association. That Wilson was the source of the Politico story is pure speculation without any factual basis that has been established. It is for more likely that the source was located in Washington, where such rumors circulate estensively and abound whereas Wilson is in a remote location far from where there is a press corps allied against conservatives that serves the One in the Oval Office in the manner that Politico does. The only thing that you have cleared up is your own inability to reason logically based on a provable factual foundation, an apparently ingrained habit on your part that is particularly active when it coincides with your completely unexplained visceral dislike for Governor Perry.

Wilson works for PERRY’S superpac.

Not Romneys or Obama’s.

That’s the point I’m making.

I’m not making a different point.

Wilson = PERRY

It’s really very simple.

Wilson could’ve said “I have no comment”. But Wilson who works for PERRY, chose to throw mud.

No, you are posting this to try to trash Perry who has said nothing negative about Cain or this story.

By the way, couldn’t find it at your link.

Did Perry leak? Cain and staffer disagree
http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-503544_162-57318215-503544/did-perry-leak-cain-and-staffer-disagree/

“This Mr. Anderson is frequently quoted in Politico; he’s got a connection there,” Cain said.
“And he started working for the Perry campaign two weeks ago. These are simply the facts.”
