Report: Cain sought dinner date with fifth woman

A former USAID worker claims Herman Cain asked her to set up dinner with a woman who attended a speech he gave in 2002, the Washington Examiner is reporting tonight.

The worker - 40-year-old Donna Donella, of Arlington - told the paper that the moment came after Cain gave a paid speech in Egypt that year. A woman in the crowd posed a query to Cain during the speech, the Examiner said. Continue Reading

Donella told them “And after the seminar was over, Cain came over to me and a colleague and said, ‘Could you put me in touch with that lovely young lady who asked the question, so I can give her a more thorough answer over dinner?’”

She was "suspicious of Cain's motives and delined to set up the date," the Examiner reporter wrote.

That prompted Cain to reply, "Then you and I can have dinner." Instead, some of Donella's co-workers suggested a group outing.

Every woman in America should claim that she was asked out on a date by Herman Cain. When the number reaches 5000 then the storm will die out.

“My biggest problem with this entire matter is that Cain Accused Perry of being behind this.
And he got away with it.

It’s become a circus.”

Yeah, I had a big problem with that too. I like both of them, but I think Cain lost some goodwill by level unfounded charges against another candidate when that’s essentially what he’s accusing these women of. Before that, conservatives were almost unilaterally coming to his defense. Now he’s managed to alienate some whose support he’ll need later. You’re right, this whole thing has become a circus.

Yes, I talked to Sean on the radio today. During the Broaddrick saga, I got through to Gloria at her office and asked if she would help Juanita. She had no interest.

“ultimately, it doesn’t matter what Conservatives think, its what those 20% of the mushy middle will believe”

Remember that, then, if your candidate doesn’t get the nomination (whoever he or she may be). The mushy middle (and it may be more than 20%) likely won’t go for anyone we here view as “conservative enough”, either. Sad that the DBM has succeeded in dividing us even further.

Newt was so right when he said something like our in-fighting isn’t the way to win an election (and defeat BHO).

So far, nothing I have seen about Cain has made me distrust him or think badly of him. All this stuff from the media is really stupid.

Actually, it’s getting ridiculous. When the number gets up to 10 uncomfortable women, I’m going to laugh out loud and send him a donation.

Are you the gentleman Sean said he heard from earlier today? Just curious, tonight on the show he mentioned someone from Free Republic (which I thought was great!) but I didn’t hear the name clearly.

Doug, it WAS you—good to know—I missed it when Hannity mentioned your name on the TV show.

Allsleaze has no creibility in the helping hurt women department. Someone paid her fee today, and it wasn’t the bankrupt ditz from Chitown.

“But, that’s the point, my friend. If one is a conservative (no matter who your candidate), one has to support Cain here. If not, we’ll never have a credible black presence in the conservative movement— because the Dems will do this each and every time, and in doing so, continue to divide the nation with their self-serving race mantra.”

Wow, excellent point! (And worth repeating :-)

As for Colin Powell not running, I’m so glad he didn’t. Because he was popular enough at the time that he might have won. He who supports BHO and shouldn’t even be called a Republican, MUCH LESS a Conservative.

I’m more than a little sick of all these stories about Cain, but they are building and are starting to ‘develop legs.’ The most peculiar thing to me so far is that all these women are based out of the DC area.

What legs? The first two seem to be of unspecified "sexual harassment" charges, which could mean anything... opening a door, lifting one's eyebrows in a "suggestive" manner, putting a hand on someone's back, etc. The first two either settled or there was severance package. Typical BAU for many companies in these type of allegations to settle & be done with it.

The last three incidents that have "come forward" are all based on hearsay..... no charges, no reports, no records, nothing reported at the time. Anyone can make up something from 12-20 years ago. These last three are so ridiculous because they are completely hearsay. The media would NEVER in a million years print anything like this against 0dumb0 or Klintoon or any demoRATs.... this is smear tactics 101 by the media & demoRATs.

It wasn't me...and I'm sticking with that story.

Reluctantly and regrettably, I must agree with you. Cain is toast.

Good grief, what in the hell is wrong with you people? Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? I'm not going down without a fight. If we had listened to people like you, Clarence Thomas wouldn't be on the Supreme Court.

I’m right here way past bedtime- but, this Cain thing is like a detective story I can’t put down. -:

I was afraid someone would call me on Powell- and yes, he turned quissling and big disappointment. But, if you recall, after Iraq, he seemed cool. Good example of the point I made, though— he ultimately succumbed to the pressure of the Jackson/Sharpton/Dem race mafia- which is why we have to fight this fight with Cain (unless, of course, REAL HARD evidence shows he is a Clinton).
