Sharon Bialek, a woman employed by the National Restaurant Association’s Educational Foundation in the late 90s, accused Herman Cain of inappropriate sexual contact today in a press conference with celebrity attorney Gloria Allred.
Bialek said she first met Cain when employed by the NRA as a manger of industry relations. She lost her job there shortly thereafter, and at her boyfriend’s suggestion, arranged to meet Cain in D.C. over coffee in 1997 to discuss her career. She told Cain what hotel she would be staying at; when she arrived, she had been upgraded to a suite, which she later found out had been through his doing, although she says she was not aware of that at the time. Cain also switched their meeting to a restaurant. After eating, Bialek said the two drove over to the National Restaurant Association headquarters; she assumed he would show her the offices.
“He suddenly reached over and he put his hand on my leg, under my skirt, and reached for my genitals,” said Bialek of what happened next. “He also grabbed my head and brought it towards his crotch. I was very, very surprised and very shocked. I said, ‘What are you doing? You know I have a boyfriend. This isn’t what I came here for.’ Mr. Cain said, ‘You want a job, right?’ I asked him to stop and he did. I asked him to take me back to my hotel, which he did, right away.”
Bialek said she told her boyfriend and another friend that Cain had been “sexually inappropriate” to her at the time, but said she had not detailed what occurred.
Bialek, identified by Allred as a registered Republican, said she saw Cain again about a month ago at a Tea Party conference in the Chicago area. She asked him if he remembered her. “He acknowledged that he remembered me from the foundation, but he kind of looked uncomfortable,” Bialek said. “He said nothing as he was whisked away for his speech by his handlers.”
As noted, before the press conference began, the Cain campaign put out a statement saying the allegations were “completely false.”

1) Why would she ask him to drive her back to the hotel after her supposed horrific experience ( where he allegedly grabbed her head and forced it on his crotch)
Wouldn’t a decent woman quickly leave the car in a huff and abandon the boor? Notonly that, wouldn’t she fight him off and SCREAM?
What he did based on her description is sexual assault. Would a normal woman ask her assailant to drive her back?
2) As scripted stories go, this looks so badly written...
One would have to assume that Cain is so stupid that he can’t wait to at least take her to the hotel room before attempting anything. He had to do it in the car where people might see them make out.
Gloria Allred can’t even write a credible script. She wants to make Herman Cain look like a barbarian.

cain used his power: ‘you want a job, right’?
in her statement she said she came out to show
a pattern of cain’s behavior.
clinton did it, so did cain. most men in powerful
positions would do it, too. there is nothing abnormal
about it. it is about power.
now that cain is pursuing the potus position, surely
he must be accountable to criticism, too, no?

NRA expense records from that time period will tell an active reporter what Cain was driving that night.

i was pro cain until a couple weeks ago when the
accusations came out, and saw the way he handled them.
i also saw blitzer cnn interviewing about negotiating
with terrorists (e.g. guantanomo bay) and he said he
would be able to do that - similar to netanyahu’s decision.
later he tried to reverse what he said.
When that book came out about Sarah Palin, if her first reaction had been to say “Well, I don’t even know who Glen Rice is” and then the next day she said “okay, I know who Glen Rice, but I don’t know him personally” and then she’d followed that up the next day by saying “well, okay, I know him, but I didn’t have anything to do with him sexually”, then I would have wondered why her story changed. Cain has engaged in the same kind of behavior. He didn’t tell the truth, and now he wants to deflect the truth by screaming about lynchings and media attacks.
I do not know what Herman Cain did or didn’t do. I hope that he didn’t do what this woman said he did. The trouble is that, because he’s been completely inconsistent in his response, I’m not sure I can ever trust that he’s telling the truth about any of it.
If this is going to hurt Cain, then I suggest the media bring out the male lovers of Bambi, surely there is a story there that is much worse than this!

If the boyfriend kept his credit card records for a very long time or, I’d imagine with some sort of legal request. I’d be surprised if the hotel or credit card company would go back that far just for a simple inquiry.

I read it and it looks like something YOU would have personally done. That doesn’t mean that because you would do what you recommend Cain should do that the matter would then go away.
Herman Cain already DENIED the allegations. I don’t think he can do anything more.
As for his playing the race card, all I can say is this — If someone fears you because your RACE actually stands against everything they believe in, it IS NOT inappropriate to bring this issue out in the open.
The left fear Herman Cain PRECISELY because he is living embodiment of everything they have been fighting against, especially when it comes to dependent blacks.
Count them — from Morgan Freeman to Harry Belafonte to people calling Tea Party his supporters because he allegedly assuage their hidden racism, THEY PLAY THE RACE CARD. There comes a time when it is APPROPRIATE to call them out on this — THEY ATTACK A BLACK MAN PRECISELY BECAUSE HE IS BLACK AND CONSERVATIVE.
I see nothing inappropriate in speaking this truth.
Wait. She was not employed at the time, then she was harassed by Cain (who headed the National Restaurant Association), then she worked for the Association? That means that either she went along with the “harassment” or she is not telling the truth.
