I agree he’s blown this situation big time and I don’t think he’s got a chance at saving it now, and while blaming Obama is the easy thing to do, I think Cain and his team have to look in the mirror.

I’ve said this before, you want to run for the president you better have your own house in order, and its clear Cain doesn’t. He should have know his employer paid out to shut up a woman over allegations he did something wrong. Even if he did nothing wrong, so that he would have been aware it was out there and had a prepared response to it. Instead he got completely blindsided, then lashed out at other republicans only to backtrack and now is on twitter trying to make light of it.. sorry beyond amateurish.

The assumption is that all of these women are lying... and while that certainly may be the case, it is not guaranteed to be. I am not going to just write off everything assuming its a partisan attack, jaundiced eye at the press, certainly, but not being a zealot I’m not going to assume everything is a lie on its face and then just deny it exists.

Personally I don’t see why the White House or even the press would launch a coordinated attack on Cain, it doesn’t make sense, hes certainly not solidified the nomination by any stretch, and like Perry and Bachmann before he’s enjoyed the anti-romney bounce, but could and likely will just as likely lose it as the process goes on.

Seems to me to be wasted effort, if you want to destroy him you wait until he’s the nominee and the republicans can’t change their minds. So that theory comes across as a bit bunk to my view.

Anyone running for office who isn’t prepared for all out war at any time in this day and age shouldn’t be running, and Cain has certainly proven he’s not in my mind. The question is will the anti-romney crowd fall on their sword for this guy, even if he gets so damaged that he has no chance at the white house, or will they move on to someone else?

My suspicion is that it will be the latter. I know they are currently hoping Cain will save this thing, but his performance to date on this matter is flat out embarrassing. There is no way this guy can survive a national election.
