You're a registered voter in Illinois. You don't register as a democrat or republican. You pick your part affiliation when you go to vote; primaries and the general.

The copy/paste up-thread indicates that her voter registration is inactive. If so, she's not a registered anything.

Well, she wouldn’t be a registered “anything” in any event. I live in Illinois. We receive a voter registration card based on the district in which we live. My card (reissued this July) shows my registration number, name/address, and the district in which I’m registered, along with the location of my poling place. There is nothing about party affiliation except on the back, and that is only if I’m interested in being an election judge. I’m to pick which party, mark whether I’ve served as a judge before, and send that portion of the card in.

Once I arrive at my poling place to vote, There’s one table for each district represented at that place. If a primary, I declare my party affiliation and receive the appropriate ballot. Same for the general.

So, any statement about her being a registered ‘whatever’ in Illinois is spurious.
