Interestingly, that is similar to the theory on Anita Hill: When she applied for a job after leaving Thomas’ office, under “reason for leaving last job” she said “Sexual harassment” figuring nobody would check up and it took the blame off her. But when the guy is being nominated for the SCOTUS, and there is a serious attempt to Bork him, no stone was unturned and someone discovered her comments on er application. They confronted her and she did not want to testify. They ultimately said they were going forward with or without her.
She was left with no choice other than to come forward with a really cool story about a coke can. It was beyond lame.
