Haley offered them long term tax exemptions and seized private properties for very little money... so that Toyota could build this plant. Every single Mississippian is paying for these jobs... and will for years... some paid with their personal wealth and property... and the upheaval of their lives.
I love the jobs... I hate the corporatism of Haley and his crony capitalists. I cannot wait to replace him with Phil Bryant... who has promised unlike Haley... to NOT veto eminent domain reform and to pass it into law.
Many of these companies get these sweet deals... and like Oreck in Long Beach, Mississippi... when the exemption time passes for tax free sailing... they packed up their plant and moved it to Tennessee... where they cut another 20 year tax free deal... etc etc etc.

Consider this: When was the last time you heard about GM building a new unionized plant that caused excitement in a community? Or any unionized industry for that matter.
