Because we an sense this is a decent man. That’s why the controversy may even help him, who knows. I like Governor Perry but Cain is Perry’s nightmare right now. As long as Cain survives and grows stronger Perry won’t have much of a way to rise.
Even if Cain faltered, Perry would NOT get his support. It would go mostly to Newt.
