Ron Paul's Statement of Faith (says he's "accepted Jesus Christ")
Pundit House ^ | July 13, 2011 | Ron Paul

Posted on 11/06/2011 6:40:00 PM PST by Kurt Evans

My faith is a deeply private issue to me, and I don't speak on it in great detail during my speeches because I want to avoid any appearance of exploiting it for political gain. Let me be very clear here: I have accepted Jesus Christ as my personal Savior, and I endeavor every day to follow Him in all I do and in every position I advocate...

America became the greatest nation in human history because a dedicated band of Patriots believed their God-given rights were worth fighting for, even if it meant challenging the world's most powerful nation in what many deemed a "hopeless" cause...

Since I'm asking for your vote and your trust to lead this nation, let me tell you a little bit about my background and beliefs.

My parents raised my four brothers and me on a dairy near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where they set clear examples for each of us about faith, honest living, and individual responsibility. Their Christian values helped inspire two of my brothers to eventually enter the ministry, and provided me with the foundation I needed to practice medicine and one day become a U.S. Representative.

In addition to my time in Congress, I am proud to have delivered over 4,000 babies as a country doctor in Texas. As I trained to practice medicine, I became convinced without a doubt that life begins at the moment of conception. I never performed an abortion, and I never once found an abortion necessary to save the life of the mother. In fact, I successfully helped women struggling with their pregnancies to seek other options, including adoption...

We must stand for life—not allow millions of innocent children to continue to be slaughtered with the government's approval.

We must follow the Biblical mandate of using honest weights and measures—not printing money out of thin air in almost complete secrecy and then handing it over to oppressive dictators.

We must only send our men and women to fight for our country when the mission is clear, every tool needed to win is provided, and we respect the Constitution by declaring war...

As President, I give you my word that I will only exercise my authority within the confines of the Constitution, and I will work every day to rein in a runaway federal government by binding it with the chains of that document.

The difference between them and Islamo-Nazi Iran is simple:

Iran is stupid enough to start World War III.

“Communist” China (they’re really fascist) and North Korea are not run by religious fanatics who think they will get 72 virgins after being nuked.

Out of curiousity, (I already know the answer, but what the heck ?) why do Paulestinians always defend Iran ? I thought their motto was “America First!”

No, what we cannot afford are entitlements. We spend far more on entitlements than we do anything else.

http://www.usdebtclock.org/

Last time I checked military spending is Constitutional. Socialist Security, Mediscare, Medicaid, and bloated federal pensions are unconstitutional.

Protecting the nation is the federal government’s main job, case closed.

“He tells the Democrats about the cuts the Democrats will like, and tells the Republicans about the cuts the Republicans will like, and tells them these cuts could pass, because both sides will get cuts they like.”

Thank you for proving my point.

“Have you ever read the Constitution or Federalist Papers? If you have you would find that Ron Paul is more in line with our founding fathers than any candidate.”

LOL! +1!

Probably. Once again, not understanding that thinking something is wrong, immoral and unwise doesn’t mean it should be illegal.

I back this up with my eyes and ears while working with vets all the time. Among the group I work with there are perhaps 5-6 RP backers. To a person they are support staff, enlisted, and all but one activated guard. Terms like “I didn't sign up for the sh*t” and such are common.

So are the laughs and contempt from those who were in the sh*t and in other roles that are around them...

Many of these guys report similar situations when active as late as a few weeks ago. The democrats and other anti war types did not tend to be up front though there were exceptions of course.

So you got stats from this $75K that shows I'm wrong?

You going to argue that an army nurse or a navy supply tech’s or hell even a combat troops job is major global military planning and strategy. Can you show me their course work and duty sheet for that?

Got it. "Anecdotal." That's all you needed to say.

The primary meaning is “the use or the administering of drugs” (usually associated with sorcery or idolatry).

So what's forbidden is either ALL drug use - including medical - or only drug use associated with sorcery or idolatry. To which interpretation do you subscribe?

No, observation of real people in real settings, what we in the real world call empirical data. And it stretches beyond just those around me. I have seen and read numerous blogs of these anti-war soldiers over the years. Hell even here on FR it has been discussed back in the day.

So now prove me wrong.

Where are your stats...

Do you not know the difference between the Gospels and Galatians? Are you unfamiliar with the teachings of Jesus which he put forth in the Gospels?

Heck, you even misspelled Bean.

You can stop at anecdotal, friend. Throw all the mayo, lettuce, and cheese you want on the top, it's still a big, fat anecdotal sandwich.

Got it.

Move on.

Yeah, so you got nothin’...

What I thought.

You Paulbots are too much fun...

BTW , toss the anecdotal for second, you still have yet to tell me where the average solider is steeped in global level strategy...

There is a reason there are Privates and a reason there are Generals...

So in your stats that you don't have, if you can show me the number of Pentagon and top military planners that are big Paul supporters...

You wouldn't know a Fact if it fell on you. They should have taught you to think when they taught you language.

Talk about screen names, I think BeanBrain is appropriate for you. Good choice. You sound like you're sixteen years old. Whatever your age, your maturity is lacking.

I agree with Ron Paul on most things. I think all drugs should be legal. Of course, they would have to be kept out of the reach of immature Bean Brains, but other than that, I think we'd do okay. You keep trading insults and I'm going to be forced to bring up what your mother does for the good folks at truck stops.

Granted, Paul appears overly optimistic about the intentions of radical Islam and international Communism. William Buckley, who came from an isolationist background and whose earliest mentors were Old Right libertarians like Frank Chodorov, came to the realization early in his career that the United States cannot be a giant Switzerland. Our very size of our nation precludes non-involvement in overseas matters.

That said, the mistake the Bush Administration and neo-conservatives made was to engage in nation building exercises, the adoption of a Wilsonian idealism about the natural inclinations of people toward democracy and freedom. The Arab and Muslim world is nothing like Germany or Japan, advanced industrial nations with a highly literate and largely secular population. Although the neo-conservative inclination to U.S. dominated action is to be preferred over the multilateral inclinations of Carter, Clinton, and Obama, it nevertheless has worked contrary to U.S. interests as we became involved in prolonged combat and reconstruction efforts that drove the costs of the Iraq and Afghan wars.

Our goal in military action should be to severely punish those who commit aggression such as the 9-11 attacks, but realize that because of fallen human nature and the cultural dynamics of the Arab and Muslim world, we cannot remake these countries in our image.

With regard to whether a national politician should be involved in drug matters, it is a legitimate subject. The Federal government has been heavily involved in controlling narcotics traffic since the days of Nixon, and even earlier. The Constitution grants the Feds no power in this matter; the Tenth Amendment leaves such matters to the states and people. The states would retain their laws prohibiting narcotics, and hopefully enforce them. The DEA and the FDA could be dismantled, saving many billions of dollars.

I actually don't disagree with that. The nation building while noble, and to some extent an outgrowth of our success in Europe and Japan post WWII is proving to be problematic in this era. Now as to the cause, which may never be fully understood, is it that we did not do a thorough job of rooting out and destroying the agitators leaving the peaceful more breathing room or is it the nature of that part of the world. It is a hard call. Iran circa the 60s and 70s was a up and coming nation, and there are Islamic nations that seem to hold their own in general. But that radical element is always in the mix to some extent and screws up things.

But that doesn't mean we abandon our global interest. Its the 21st Century and technology is spreading fast. Hell the Iranian have orbited satellites. Those who seem to forget history need to remember most of our first satellites were orbited by ballistic missiles. If you can get into orbit you can land anywhere and accuracy really isn't a point with a nuke. Aim to the east coast and and even plus or minus 500 miles could kill millions. Being close to the action is a far better way to keep a watchful eye.

It seems that Paul folks in general have this “pull all the way back’ mentality and Ron himself with his “Kymbaya’ approach to Iran and the like is too far in the other direction to be viable.
