That will, of course, increase the amount of oil that the US will need to import by tanker, so the "environmentalists" will have eliminated extremely safe pipeline transportation of oil in return for a string of tankers leaving Canada, while others are coming here. As others have noted, Obama has no say over the Trans-Canadian pipeline. It's the Canadians' oil, they want to sell it, and if the US won't buy it they'll be happy to point the pipe into the hold of a Chinese tanker and have it sail away.
