Post 338; "Now, HERE, folks, is a PERFECT example of some of the idiots amongst us."

"Post 339 "Once again, you're demonstrating my point: that there are idiots among us."

She is sooooooooooo predictable. Has looked down on us from the begining, thus all the threads 'throwing' the stuff in our faces over and over again, 'cuz we're too stupid to know it otherwise.

Yeah, she(?) managed to unsult me in post #337 as well...

I am sure ETL means well, but I actually think those sort of posts are more likely to turn people away than to educate them. People see that sort of spam and think, "Wow, this person is unhinged, I wonder how many other whack-a-doodles there are here?". And that's ashame, because what might be a perfectly rational argument gets lost (along with the original topic of the thread).

To: Scutter; ETL; I see my hands

Believe me, I don’t disagree completely with the view that too much of something is annoying. I know people who talk about someone posting on the NFL threads and how it drives them crazy...I have seen those postings, and I understand both why the guy posts them as he does, and why some people get irritated with it.

There used to be someone who posted a lot on FR (haven’t seen that person post lately) and they were zombie-like images of Hillary and some other liberal figures. I didn’t really like them much and wasn’t all that interested in them, but...hey. It was how he/she expressed themselves. I could read the posts and skip the images. (I do understand where that is problematic for someone surfing on a smartphone, or with a modem...)

But I just don’t personally feel the need to put the kibosh on them.

We have all seen the Freeper I See My Hands who posts everything with a box around it. I don’t mind it, it is individualistic and unique, but I saw another Freeper try to tear him a new one because of it. That bothered me, because it wasn’t really his formatting that bugged them, it was the basis of what he was saying that they disagreed with, but the person chose to attack his presentation instead.

There are a number of people who long for the good old days of unformatted text only.

I personally think that would be okay, but I enjoy threads so much more that have animated gifs in them, Photoshopped images and hyperlinks. Apart from the discourse, those are the highlights for me...

Bottom line, there is a lot of variability. When I see those things, I just skip over them. I try to take the good with bad, but hey, I am a glass half full person anyway.

As I said to the other poster who had a real issue with it, that is their opinion and I don’t have any say over that. It is theirs and they are entitled to it, as it should be.

The original reply to PoliticalMom, the one that got this all started, was a thinly veiled personal attack.

It didn’t take much to entice ETL to pull back the veil, in the more recent posts, including yours at 337 Scutter (sorry didn’t se that one earlier), and firing both barrels at “too stupid to be informed Freepers” with personal attacks.

The posts are consistent with what I think ETLs opinion of the rest of us has been from the beginning, that of an elitist.
