I’ve been on the anyone-but-mitt train since the beginning and would support that nominee. I’ve watched every debate including last nights. Cain just isn’t in the same league as Newt, hands down. I’d forfeit a paycheck for a Newt/Cain ticket. One or two terms as a VP would make Cain an unstoppable candidate, but he’s just not the guy for now when we have the caliber of Newt in the race.

Cain is fresh, charismatic and grass roots conservative while Newt is a freaking genius with lots and lots of baggage.
According to the Buckley rule it would have to be Cain/Gingrich.
IMHO of course.

I just finished watching it on CSPAN this morning as I fell asleep before the debate began. Have to say I agree with what you said.

I'm one of those folks with one foot on the "Cain train" but I have to say Newt won hands-down. It's clear though that Cain wasn't intimidated by Gingrich, and that Cain needs some "political seasoning" to be ready to be President.

A Gingrich/Cain ticket is something I could support.

There are other combinations too (none of which include Romney or Paul) as I'm pretty much in the "Anyone but Obama" camp.

I fear that after two terms, Mr. Cain might be a little long in the tooth.
