I don’t understand some of the Freepers here. They say they want a common-sense plain-speaking candidate; they just don’t want him or her speaking too plainly - or simplistically.

For me, it is not a matter of semantics but trust. Palin and Cain are not Reaganesque communicators, but I can trust them to do the right thing. I trust Bachmann and Santorum as well. They all love this country which is the first priority.

But there was something else that Reagan had besides conservative conviction and communication skills. He had authenticity and likability, and Cain has that in spades.

Palin has the Reaganesque quality for sure. I fail to see it in Cain. I just don’t see him as being above average and that really came across in last night’s one on one debate.
