And it wasn’t really a debate, although it was very interesting. You could probably do this with individual candidates.

Cain will surround himself with the best advisers he can find If Block is any indication, we are in deep doo doo.

Your Captain Crotch has never had an original idea in his life and only knows what his big money donors tell him.

Well, youll get a lot of laughs then because hes used the crouton line on every Perry thread for the last two weeks.Your posts are running a close second in the laughs department. I mean really--Cain's wife not voting for him? Why would you even say such a thing?
If you want your man to rise in the polls, you better get him aside and kick him in the @ss to wake him up.
As far as Perry giving us what we supposedly want, not once have I heard him espouse or champion the Galveston model or the voter ID law in the debates. And he's not the only governor to have signed a voter ID law. He didn't invent it.
My motto is: one governor from Texas or Arkansas as President is one too many.We already have had two--and I was not impressed with either one of them.
Guess I am just heartless.

Let me see......you think that all conservative ideas originated with Rick Perry?? So that every time anyone voices a conservative plan, it's all Perry's??
I seriously have nothing against the man, but that's kind of absurd, don't you think?
btw, he's not doing too well in the polls. Do you have some kind of conspiracy theory about that too?
(PLEASE don't share it with me if you do.....)

I have to give Newt his props...instead of doing dirty politics, Newt co-opted Cain’s popularity to get his message out. Bravo!

I noticed that as well.
They do pay lip tribute to the economy going over the cliff, but they don’t explain the awful horror we face.
I like what they are saying, but I do think they are too late, and if they are so deluded that they think they can prevent a total melt-down, we all need what they are smoking.
That said, I intensely hope they are right, and I am wrong.
I think it is too late, and I wonder why they want the label of the guy who got labeled in the history book (if any will survive) as “in charge” when the
“great ship went down”.
But, I am just a little old lady, and maybe they know more than they can tell, and will save us from the mess in Europe, our own devalued dollar, debt, etc.
All I can say is that we do live in interesting times.

I think it was a great discussion, and would feel odd trying to say that someone “won”.

Cain has had 6 months not 35 years. He's learning. And smart policy wonks are useful and impressive, but not as overall leaders. We seem to forget that Newt quit in scandal after he let the power go to his head as Speaker of the House. Plus overall leaders like Reagan are likeable, understandable to the average Joe, and personable.

(Forgiven, not perfected)
This thread has now disintigrated from a great thread about a great debate to a spitting contest.
Rather than get pulled further into it by unsolicited posts, I shall bid adieu to all still here.
GREAT thread. GREAT debate! I'm pumped!
