No one is going to rip into you. You are expressing personal opinions that do not fit the Judeo-Christian argument for life. Who is to define 'severely retarded' and the standard that should be applied? I have read countless testimonies of such instances over the years. Based on pre-natal tests, parents were told their child would be born a vegetable only to learn afterwards that something went wrong in the testing. How many perfectly normal children have been aborted because of such a mistake?
Then there are the cases of children discovered to have physical abnormalities while still in the womb. Immediately, I think of Samuel Alexander Armas.
Take a good look at this picture. It's one of the most remarkable photographs ever taken. The tiny hand of a fetus reaches out from a mother's womb to clasp a surgeon's healing finger. It is, by the way, 21 weeks old, an age at which it could still be legally aborted. While undergoing spina bifida surgery in utero, 21-week-old fetus Samuel Armas grips the finger of Dr. Joseph Bruner through the incision. At that age the mother could have chosen to have the foetus aborted. Her decision not to, however, led to an astonishing test not just of medical technology, but of faith. Who are we to question why God sends such children into this world?
Another example is if the mother's life is in danger.
This is one of those "broad" excuses that doctors have used since ad finitum to justify abortion. High blood pressure is an example of a 'life threatening' situation. It's treatable.
Last year, I posted the story of an abortion that took place in Italy. The young woman decided to abort her child because it had a cleft palate, a condition easily resolved through surgery. She falls into the category of a woman who was psychologically challenged to give birth to such a child.
I don't know if you are a person who practices your faith on a daily basis but I would encourage you to take a deeper look at scripture and the truths contained therein.

Actually, a couple of things here. First, one of the occurrences might be if the woman had a certain type of cancer and found out she was pregnant. The pregnancy may cause the cancer to spread more rapidly. Another scenario, that gets misrepresented is the catch all of 'the life of the mother'. I was caught up in that with HELLP Syndrome but, it like other high risk pregnancies doesn't really center on aborting the baby, as much as it centers on who to save in the event that they can only save one. The mother or the baby. In such a case, saving the mother doesn't mean the baby is aborted, it just means the baby dies during childbirth. Sometimes the surgeons cannot save both the mother and the baby. To me, abortion is intentional and planned. To me anyway, if the health of the mother is at risk and they have to deliver the baby early and it doesn't survive, that is not abortion.
