You can put a program into place in which these individuals can be identified, and work visas in which they can move back and forth between their countries but not to become United States citizens, Perry said. And I think thats where McCain, thats where Romney, thats where even Bush went wrong when they talked about the issue that, were going to give amnesty to these individuals, and people just said, no, were not.
Perry didnt elaborate on what such a visa plan would look like, saying only that authorities need to determine a better way to identify illegal immigrants and make them part of mainstream society. He also said the program would only work if the federal government first does a better job securing Americas borders.
I disagree with the concept that somehow or another were going to pack up 10, to 12, to 15 million people and ship them back to the country of origin. Thats not going to happen, Perry said. So realty has to be part of our conversation. And then you need to have a strategy to deal with it. That is what I think we will have, but first you have to secure that border.
Perry called Washingtons efforts to stop the flow of illegal immigrants an abject failure but said that, as president, he could accomplish the task in just a year using the existing fence, more border patrol agents and air surveillance.

I think it’s just people get kicks talking about this kind of stuff. I don’t blame the women for not wanting to talk to the public. Can you imagine the threats etc they and their families would get?
Plus it seems two of them are Gov employees. Bah Bye job.
It’s a good diversion, we KNOW the msm NEVER wants to talk about REAL Issues. Subpoena to WH, Greece going down the tube. but the even worse problem is out of view ITALY.
The MX/U.S border a war zone. They are still hoping for a Bubba type scandal. But if the women will not cooperate. OOPS it’s dead.
Anyway the msm probably got word from the WH that they need Romney to be the candidate. So the RINO’s and msm are doing all they can to help.
yeah.
but why start it to begin with?
the msm is just making trouble for cain.
It’s politics and you bet the Dummie dirty tricks machine knew about this within days of Cain announcing. I guess they didn’t think he would get any attention. Now they need him destroyed. They need Romney to be the Candidate. WHY? I have no idea. They must have something on him. No
Every word of my tag line is based on what those on the right (conservatives) have been called by lefties or in the case of "Hobbit" by John McCain.
As far as teabagging is concerned, it's better to be a teabagger than a teabaggee. :-)
thanks!! Newt is good but he has to raise the money. If he can pull in some money he can be a contender.
But, I think a sound, politically palatable policy in this race conscious society would be to grant visas in proportion to the current ethnic mix of the country.
I understand, however, that that wouldn't fly with the progressives, who wish to break the country into malleable ethnic enclaves.
His “baggage” is looking a lot less worriesome. ha.
I like your thinking but I actually think that ‘333’ rolls of the lips a little better. I’ll put it before the entire board and get back to you...yup, we’re going with ‘333’. Are you paying attention, Herman?
I believe that if we did away with welfare, unemployment, etc there would be no shortage of native workers. Currently, we pay people more to sit at home than to work. Remember the adage: If you want more of something subsidize it...
I pretty much agree with your last paragraph as long as they gotta go home first, not receive it here.
>>I believe that if we did away with welfare, unemployment, etc there would be no shortage of native workers. Currently, we pay people more to sit at home than to work. <<
You’ve raised two distinct issues:
We’ll never do away with programs that keep people from starving, or freezing in an unheated house during a northern winter, or dying of a treatable illness that they can’t afford to treat. Granted, private charity is capable of filling some of this need, and if government didn’t do it, charity would almost certainly increase, but, as Hayek maintained (about Great Britain in the 40’s), we are too rich a society to allow the above scenarios to occur if we can avoid them.
The second issue is how much we spend to avoid the above scenarios, and here I very much agree with you. There is no doubt in my mind that we are encouraging unemployment and sloth with the overly-generous government programs currently available.
The trick is to find the proper balance. And to do that we first have to get Obama and his ilk out of power...
A good example was what happened to welfare programs. They grew and grew until the 1990’s and then shrunk dramatically as the payments were reined in and work requirements were added. The same needs to be done with unemployment benefits today, which have gotten completely out of hand.
If Obama had a clue, he’d cut unemployment payments back to 39 weeks and get to see the unemployment rate drop significantly before November 2012...fortunately he’s clueless regarding anything to do with free market economics.
