Ya want to know exactally what date was the REAL start of our decline as a country, November 22, 1963, when that STUPID, LEFTIST, COMMUNIST BASTARD Lee Harvey Oswald(and/OR his band of co-Cospirators) Killed JFK and PUT that TEXAS, BASTARD LBJ in office. The GREAT SOCIETY started driving our country into the ground!
Actually, if I was pressed to pick a deciding moment date, that is the one I would go with also.

Nope.. The Great Society was an expansion of the New Deal. FDR is the real culprit, with a nod to the early 20th Century progressive who laid the foundation for the social engineering movement.
Joe Kennedy, Jr. couldn’t have been that bad of a guy.
Nah - the beginning of the end goes way back to the thirties and FDR’s campaign policy of appealing to his separate constituencies as groups instead of as Americans.
What we need to do is to delete the viruses that have crept into our system: the anticompetitive quasi monopolies that blight everything from banking to public education; the politically correct pseudosciences and soft subjects that deflect good students away from hard science; the lobbyists who subvert the rule of law for the sake of the special interests they represent—to say nothing of our crazily dysfunctional system of health care, our overleveraged personal finances, and our newfound unemployment ethic.
