Cain has confirmed most of the initial allegations. There is nothing here to sue for. If he files suit, his campaign is dead in the water, if it isn’t already. Jeez, this guy is lame.

And yet so many people cheer this as some sort of clever strategy. This is simply more evidence the Cain campaign folks are bunch of novices that have no idea what they are doing.

The story as Politico reported it has been largely confirmed by Cain himself. We now know there were at least 2 sexual harassment suits against Cain which were settled by the NRA for cash payouts. Any dopey lawsuit will just keep the story in the news longer.

And in this article Cain contradicts his own campaign manager by continuing to attack the Perry campaign, even though the "source" Cain alleges did the leaking has flat out denied it and released any journalist from confidentiality and allowed them to finger him. Levin was just on the radio tonight making clear he no longer even believes Curt Anderson is the source. The Cain campaign is the gang that can't shoot straight and would be annihilated in a general election campaign against Hussein.

You’re full of it, Mr. Cain has never confirmed “most of the initial allegations”. You’re the one who is lame.

No amount of explaining or reasoning with these slimeballs at Politico. Sue ‘em. Even if it’s thrown out. At least make them pay for lawyers.

He has confirmed that there were claims made against him for sexual harassment over some sort of gesture and that something around $40,000 was paid to settle the lawsuit. That pretty much sums up most of the initial report from Politico. Mark Block is a rank amateur who does little more than read prepared statements when he gives “interviews.” If there is any question about the truth of the story and about Cain’s own credibility and integrity, it is almost exclusively the fault of Messrs. Cain and Block themselves. They have shot themselves in the foot and seem to be taking a higher aim every day.

There was never any lawsuit. He never claimed something around $40,000 was paid to settle the non-existant lawsuit. Where are you getting this stuff. I heard Mr. Cain on Hannity’s show today and he never said any of this. Unlike you, until real facts are brought out, I prefer to stick with the facts that we know.

Thee are no suits, suits would have a public record. There where no settlements, they where classed as severance pay. They where supposed to have made complaints , the complaints where found to have no merit and the complaint-ants where shown the door. They where paid either ‘several months pay’ or ‘up to a years salary’ with a figure as high as $35,000 being suggested. This in return for a nondisclosure agreement.

For anyone that has ever made any money at all would know that $35,000 would not go very far. The money would be taxed, severance is taxed as income, settlements from a law suit are NOT INCOME. If a lawyer, and any ambulance chasers here would concur, would take a substantial percentage of the ‘severance package’ and you would be out the door with no job.

This is more likely a money grab by a couple women who already where on their way out and the chance to get a nice payday would give them more than an impetus to file a claim about ‘feeling uncomfortable around the new boss’ that happens to be BLACK. Don't doubt it!

A smart man with nothing to hide would just leave it alone. Thank them for their efforts and concern as it being appropriate.
Indicate that I have tried over time to be correct with all of this but its easy to be off a little and so I could have without intention offended a few.
It will be informative and helpful for all us to learn in this area
Then let them bring it on and be seen as nothing.
Who cares who is saying it and knock off the pointing of fingers - its not important.
In the meantime you just keep giving out your message and say I’m glad that you are bringing this out and trust that the same will be done with all other candidates including Democrats and including the President.
Now as to my 999 plan ....

I’d suggest you read a newspaper and stop counting of Hannity for the news.

The Cain campaign has had an attorney advising it since Saturday on crisis management, which hasn’t gone particularly well for Cain since the story broke Sunday night

Doncha love how the LSM (thinks it) gets to pass judgment on what does and does not consitute "crisis management" that is "going well."

WaPo: Cain's crisis management isn't going well because we said it isn't going well.

Thus, proving that all that matters in the determination of whether "crisis management" is "going well" is whether the LSM is satisfied with how it is going. And, of course, the LSM is only satisified with how one's crises management is going if they like you in the first place (e.g., Bill Clinton) and are part of your original election/re-election team (e.g., Bill Clinton).

Since Herman Cain is not Bill Clinton, we can expect more of the same breathless, dark pronouncements that Cain's "crisis management" is not "going well."

See above.

My point being: I will not allow the LSM to define how a political "crises" (dirty trick or actual scandal) is "managed," or define who well a crisis is managed.

You have got to be kidding me. Now Freepers are believing everything they read in newspapers. I don’t count on Hannity for news, although he’s better than the newspapers you are reading, what I was referring to was Mr. Cain’s own statements on Hannity.

I am not in favor it. But I suppose there is a time and place to float the possibility.

If nothing else, it is a warning, and a real one, to the individuals out there, who do not have deep pockets and fancy insurance lawyer teams, that they should be very careful about to whom they run their mouths and about what.

It occurred to me today that I would not be surprised if some of these people who came forward to try to set the record straight already got burned by the media. Hence the many corrections PJ Media had to make.

They must be understanding now that even if they try to help Cain get the truth out, what they say may be (deliberately or sloppily) misrepresented or misreported and they’ll just get drawn more and more into this morass.
