Herman Cain is pointing fingers at Rick Perry's campaign for leaking details about harassment allegations leveled against him when he was head of the National Restaurant Association.
But as revelations keep surfacing, it seems clear that plenty of other people may have had an interest in divulging less-than-flattering details about the Republican candidate's tenure at the NRA.
As Bloomberg's Lisa Lerer reports, Cain irked some of his NRA colleagues by operating in a "free-wheeling, free-spending culture:"
Former employees of the association told Bloomberg News that work-related outings frequently featured heavy drinking....

Interviewed today on KTOK’s Mullins in the Morning, Wilson, of Wilson-Perkins-Allen Opinion Research headquartered in Washington, D.C. explained he was a witness to the incident. “I was the pollster at the National Restaurant Association when Herman Cain was head of it and I was around a couple of times when this happened and anyone who was involved with the NRA at the time, knew that this was gonna come up.”
Wilson described the woman as a low level staffer who was maybe two years out of college. “This occurred at a restaurant in Crystal City (Virginia) and everybody was aware of it,” he continued. “It was only a matter of time because so many people were aware of what took place, so many people were aware of her situation, the fact she left-—everybody knew with the campaign that this would eventually come up.”
Wilson said for legal reasons, he can not discuss details of the incident. “But if she comes out and talks about it, like I said, it’ll probably be the end of his campaign.” The consultant said Cain is digging himself a deeper hole by challenging the woman. He also believes it has put the Restaurant Association in a position where it will have to release the woman from her confidentialilty agreement. “If she talks about it, I think it’ll be the end of his campaign.”
Mark my words, there are videos out there, somewhere, I’m sure, of the parties.
Someone will come forward with one, or two and it’s not going to be pretty.
There’s always someone with a cell phone vid at these “office” events. Always.
To assess the scandal factor, please check all that apply:
- Did the politician emit spooge on a young intern's blue dress?
- Did the politician drive drunk into a pond, leaving his passenger to helplessly drown, flee the scene, and fail to report the incident to authorities in time for a rescue?
- Did the politician spend decades as a Ku Klux Klan member, rising to the level of Kleagle (recruiter) and Exalted Cyclops?
- Did the politician have a three-decade history of sexual violence against women?
- Did the politician accept sweetheart loans and donations from the very organizations he was supposed to be regulating?
- Did the politician steer billions in contracts to companies controlled by her spouse?
- Did the politician's gay lover run a bisexual prostitution ring out of the politician's apartment?

How about the scantily clad women!!?? I only went to a few industry trade shows just out of college - but along with the free booze the gals wearing bikinis at the booths was the next best thing. They all must have thought I was a hunk too - always inviting me up to their suite in the evening for drinks and stuff. (What do you mean you just want to sell me software!?)
In Cains first full year at the restaurant association, the group broke into Fortune Magazines Power 25 of trade associations. When he left in 1999, it was ranked number 10, ahead of the American Medical Association and the Teamsters.
Now they’re back down into the 20’s. I’d say Cain was the most successful CEO they’ve ever had.
Cell phone vid from the 90’s. Don’t think so.
Makes one wonder if this isn't the out he was hoping for, since I don't believe Cain's really wanted the Presidency, nor expected to have come this far.....and that's very evident.
He has however, wanted a place in politics for sometime...and wanted the visibility to make himself known...and he's been successful doing that...but this is going to take him out for i do think he's been looking for just that...a way out...he knows he's not ready and his handling of this crisis evidences he'll have difficulty handling Washington, who is IN Crisis mode.
This was in the 1990’s, IIRC. Did all cell phones have video cameras back then?
Lordy it seems to me that the so called media is stretching itself waaaaay thin with this stuff. I wish they had spent any amount of time investigationg Barry’s daliances into the down low life style that resulted in a young man’s death
But this was 12 or more years ago, in the 1990’s. Not sure people were doing videos on their cell phones so much back then.
Yup... Lavish alright. Did you see that spread on the table in front of Cain in the picture posted with the article? Wow, I didn’t know a plate of cheese nachos was what was lavish in 1998. OMG
There was Wagyu beef and lobster hidden under the Cheez-Whiz, take my word for it...
And yet...no outrage on tax dollar supported Barry and Moo-shell’s world tours?
This is getting ridiculous now. It really is a Palin rerun.
In the early 1990's? I highly doubt it.

How dare this black man spend white mens’ money partying! Doesn’t he know Uncle Toms are supposed to know their place?
Here’s my next concern. Do strip clubs that serve food belong to the NRA? If so, did Herman visit?
Other people’s money...
