| Hannity interviews Gov. Rick Perry

....PERRY: Well, let me just put it this way. The federal government's complete and absolute failure to secure our border put a lot of pressure on governors no matter where they might be to have to deal with issues. You are required to give health care, you are required to give education. And Texans made a decision -- are we going to kick these people to the side of the road and they are going to become tax wasters? Or are we going to require that they become citizens of the United States and become taxpayers? We chose the latter. I would still do that today, considering the barriers that if you will, the arena that we have to work in.
As the president of the United States, I am against the DREAM Act. I will shut that border down because I have had to deal with it for 10 years. I understand. I am putting Texas Rangers and National Guard, I am putting Texas citizens on the line over there, they are being fired at. Thank God none of them have been killed yet. But the fact is, I know how to secure that border. When I am the president, that border will be secure. And these issues that we have been forced to deal with as governors, will start being alleviated. And then we can have a decent, a thoughtful and economically focused conversation about immigration policy.
HANNITY: So you think you could secure the border in what period of time if you're president?
PERRY: I think you can do it within a year. I mean, seriously, within a year --

Perry is a plain and simple liar. He cannot be for border security and share the same vision of a common border with vincente fox... we have two mitt flips running now!

Not having a fence built is hardly the Governors fault. Landowners along the Texas Border have a history of Opposing barriers.

Jesus Christ even said that " Offenses will come " ..
Get over it..
Yes.... if we searched here on FR we can find plenty of example's by Perry's people here.
Do you really want to go there with this ? ......

I thought the drunk stuff was a joke for a while, now I am convince he is a drunk. This from the slime ball that says it would take 15 years to build a border fence. Un believable.

I’ve recently started mulling about the idea of a “Great Compromise” on this issue:
Step 1: Seriously beef up border security
Step 2: E-Verify
Step 2: Seriously increase employer sanctions who fail to use e-verify and hire illegals.
Here’s the compromise:
After 5 years, any illegals left can come out of the shadows and apply for a new type of ID (Call it a Blue Card). This would force them to pay income and other taxes, but would forever ban them from ever becoming US Citizens or collecting Social Security. No Voting priveleges. It would allow them to stay indefinately provided they pay their own way.

Obviously reason will not change your mind. Why bother asking? Were you expecting some display of emotional mantras that pass as reasoning among the Perrygasmics?

"However, for a conservative candidate to call the rest of us heartless because we don't want our tax dollars going support illegal education is another. Keep Perry in Texas don't send him to the White House."Understood. I too was miffed but it was a poor choice of words on the fly. I heard Perry later explain the predicates for in-state treatment and the justification and was swayed. This also cannot be a single issue election and we have the House which will serve as a safeguard to amnesty (which Perry does not want). The alternative is Mittens unless Cain's campaign gets its stuff together.

" When people tell lies just to get their man out of a jam with the women then it irks me to no end. "
As Ronald Reagan once said " There you go again " ....
Yes, " Perry is a Good man " but, this other guy, his people tell lies " get their man out of a jam with the women then it irks " ... guess what ? my man ? was a woman, it was Sarah Palin.
You claim innocence of not making stupid comments, or not attacking Cain, but, in indirect ways, and innuendo, you do.
A candidate who tells us " have a heart " to those who are against illegals ? he's telling us that we are cold heartless evil people who want to trow illegals out on the street and out of our country....
Guess what ? after you come down from your Perry High, Rick Perry is soft on Illegals, and those who are " SOFT " on Illegals either have a political agenda behind it, or have illegals working for them and paying them under the table.
You can take your La Raza Cheer leading Rick Perry crew some where else, Free Republic is ANTI- ILLEGAL immigration..

As to the instate tuition hubaloo, the votes in the TX House and Senate were 179 for, 4 against, or somesuch. Just saying.A man of principles who did not want the law would still have vetoed it, not signed it. That action shows that the person does not have principles. Additional what has he done as governor to stop the illegals.
