....PERRY: Well, let me just put it this way. The federal government's complete and absolute failure to secure our border put a lot of pressure on governors no matter where they might be to have to deal with issues. You are required to give health care, you are required to give education. And Texans made a decision -- are we going to kick these people to the side of the road and they are going to become tax wasters? Or are we going to require that they become citizens of the United States and become taxpayers? We chose the latter. I would still do that today, considering the barriers that if you will, the arena that we have to work in.
As the president of the United States, I am against the DREAM Act. I will shut that border down because I have had to deal with it for 10 years. I understand. I am putting Texas Rangers and National Guard, I am putting Texas citizens on the line over there, they are being fired at. Thank God none of them have been killed yet. But the fact is, I know how to secure that border. When I am the president, that border will be secure. And these issues that we have been forced to deal with as governors, will start being alleviated. And then we can have a decent, a thoughtful and economically focused conversation about immigration policy.
HANNITY: So you think you could secure the border in what period of time if you're president?
PERRY: I think you can do it within a year. I mean, seriously, within a year --

That they did, but it applied only to K-12 education.
But in 1996, Congress passed the 'Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act' (IIRIRA) that prohibited giving instate college tuition rates to ILLEGAL aliens based on residency within a state. Even liberal president Bill Clinton signed it.
But La Raza Rick Perry and the state of Texas circumvented that law by making 3-years high school the qualifier for instate tuition as opposed to residing within the state. California, among others, has followed suit and now gives taxpayer funded subsidies to ILLEGAL aliens.
Perry has been labeled 'pro-ILLEGAL alien" for a reason; he has earned it.
Go check out what happened in the Yuma AZ sector where it was legitimately tried and was so successful they shut it down quick before the word could spread on how effective it was.
Texas and Arizona both have a lot of Military bases and those bases could provide the manpower and assets to shut down the border overnight. And yes, I do believe Perry would do it. He's spent a lot of money that is Texas taxpayer money (that should have gone elsewhere) trying to shut down the border because the drug cartels are getting seriously dangerous.
And how many illegals get through via tunnels, versus through the open country in Arizona?
Once again, you are one of the Perry supporters making the perfect the enemy of the good. Because a fence cannot be 100 percent effective, you say we shouldn't even bother, even though the California fence cut crossings 90 percent. Your decrying the imperfections of the fence is nonsense, quite frankly, and rank political propaganda to try and get around the political problems Perry's opposition to a fence is causing him.
Not to mention prisoners who need something to do, and have debts to repay.
He has a very confusing stance on immigration. He has only moved a little more to the conservative side because he is running for President.
That is what I don’t trust. He is wishy washy. Look at this.
Only name calling I see is coming from your side..We are just sayhing it like it is..Seems like someone besiides us is name calling, and that is just a calm one some of the others I don’t want to post becasue they are to nasty..
Name calling,

So that Perry's solution to the flood of illegals. What BS!
How does forcing them to become US citizens and thereby eligible for even more public assistance punish them or stop them from coming?
How does making them file income tax returns make them actually pay income tax when only the top half of earners pay and many of the other non-tax-payers in fact get Earned Income Credit redistribution of taxpayers money?
OK, I’ll give you the idea that only Paul, Romney, and Perry cannot lead.
Let’s see. Taking a failing business, making the tough choices, and turning it around. Actually putting his own money behind an effort to stop abortion, rather than taking money to push a vaccine for an STD that was difficult to opt out of. Fighting against Clintoncare as well as Obamacare, unlike Perry or most of the others.
Political inexperience leading to mistakes in his campaign, but it is not a disqualification for the office. In fact, in the eyes of most voters, it is more a blessing than a curse.
When people tell lies just to get their man out of a jam with the women then it irks me to no end..I just say make up your own mind and don't listen to the lies..I to love Sarah Palin and would have voted for her and I think she would have made Rick Perry her running mate..That is my opinion..
IIRC there was qualifier on that as well. Basically because the feds were not active in enforcing those provisions of existing immigration law. Otherwise, illegal aliens could be denied. Now I have to look it up again.
Well to be fair, in 2007 she was president of the Rudy Giuliani fan club, and Jim said they couldn’t play here anymore.
She had to have somebody pro-illegal to stump for.
He graduated from Morehouse College with a degree in mathematics at the age of 21, the first person in his family to ever go to college. He started to work for the navy as a ballistics analyst while going through graduate school. At the age of 25 he graduates with a Masters in computer science from Purdue.
He starts as a systems analyst at coca-cola and works his way up to being a VP of IT at Pillsbury. Pillsbury apparently was impressed with him. They offer him the task of turning around the worst 400 burger king restaurants in the country. He does it in 4 years and makes them the best in the country. They offer him the job of turning around the Godfather's pizza chain. He does it in 14 months. Then leads a buyout of the chain.
If you call that a "lack of accomplishments" then either you aren't too bright or you are shilling for some other candidate.
I guess the fact that they can catch a ride from Arizona across I-10 is immaterial, eh?

Will do, I am aware of the failings of the virtual fence, will read up on that.
