Bird flu and human flu could merge into 'one of biggest biological threats of our time', warn scientists

A new deadly strain of super-flu could spread to Britain within 24 hours, experts have warned. The potential for bird flu and human flu to combine and form a new virus has been described as 'one of the biggest biological threats of our time'.

The alert comes as people have started to fall victim to seasonal flu and the more virulent swine flu at the same time, according to the Daily Express.

Another run on the weak minded in an attempt to sell more flu vaccines. I also am suspicious of what may be in those shots that prompt the CDC and others around the world to try to scare us into putting them in our bodies, even though the target flu does not exist and probably never will.

Here’s the deal:

If the news report is about an H1N1 influenza variant, just move on.

IF however the news story is about an H5N1 variant that has a demonstrated human to human vector (people can transmit it readily to each other) THEN truly, be afraid.

Now, do people get sick from H5N1 viruses today? Yes. But the vector is animal —> human. So yeah, the risk is there.

But, unless the magic genetic variant happens, there is no human to human vector for a H5N1.

Another but ... BUT if an H5N1 human to human outbreak DOES happen, then the person who notifies the world of the outbreak will likely be gravely ill with an 80% chance of dying by the time you read it.

Don’t buy the duct tape and plastic or break open your BOB until H5N1 is the real news.

I wonder that, too. Yet my wife and I got the shot. Took the gamble since we don’t have insurance.

I can say that three years ago, my sister in law nearly died from H1N1. She was in an induced coma in ICU for 5 weeks. The doctors gave her a slim chance at survival and she had months of rehab after finally getting out of the hospital.

Its all funny and phony until someone you know nearly dies. You can bet she gets her flu shots early now.

Single malt scotch. Works every time it’s tried.
