WASHINGTON (AP) -- Texas Gov. Rick Perry says his campaign didn't provide the media with information about sexual harassment allegations against his GOP presidential rival Herman Cain.
In an interview with the conservative blog RedState on Wednesday, Perry said he and his campaign learned about the allegations in a Politico story published Sunday.

If the shoe fits...
I hope Cain plays this card along with his other cards he's already played (race, victim, ignorance).
Cain is not a military man so don't go there.
Are you able to answer that?
Ouch! Better put some ice on that bruise.
Did you see my first word I posted in my response to you.
The polls may not change much. Cain is much like Clinton: there is a core of hard-core supporters that will support him no matter what he does, no matter what stupid things he says, and no matter how many times he plays the race card.
True believers die hard.
No. It is only that many of us would abandon him if a) the charges were true, and b) came from a reputable non-liberal, non-muckracking blogging source. This, my dear, does not make us cultists in the least.
This is just like NASCAR at a drafting track. Leader but not fastest car (0bama) is watching the freight train draft coming (Repub candidates), ready to blow him away. Suddenly, they all start racing side by side, killing the draft and letting the leader pull away. STUPID!
She sure has a funny way of going about it.
In other words, she does not want to receive the same treatment, Cain is receiving.
This, Republicans, is why it’s important to push back.
Because it WORKS.
Really? How so? Clinton's women actually *came forward*, as in, gave us their names. "Hello, my name is ________, and Bill Clinton raped me."
Has any woman accuser of Cain come forward in this manner? Any?
Anyone who tries to destroy another's reputation, but does so only from behind a wall of anonymity, deserves what he/she gets.
She didn’t bring this up. She has only filed the complaint 12 years ago. This is common knowledge. Do you understand the woman made a complaint to her company? She is not the source for the current story. She did not come out to politico 13 days ago.
If Cain’s campaign manager is a moron, does that reflect poorly on Cain?
Just askin’
That’s pretty weak.
How could someone on his staff know about this.
Nobody knew about it until it broke, except the people involved.
I assume Cain knew about it.
I believe Cain has destroyed himself with this false allegation about Perry (oddly paired up to Rahm — what’s with that?)
Even Lucianne, an official Cain worshiper until today, has started posting some doubts about the man.
He’s never had much to offer except being a sweet, conservative black man who had some success in business.
So if he turns out to be not so sweet, what’s left?
Which woman are you talking about? This one?

Read closely what her lawyer says here!!!
Shes not going to affirmatively make any public statements or public appearances about the case, everything will be through me, Mr. Bennett said.
In other words, she’s going to continue accusing Cain, but she refuses to do it publicly, and will continue to hide behind her lawyer.
Don’t even bother posting back to me if you’re going to defend an outrage such as this.
Reflect poorly? It’s revealing something that’s been obvious for a long time. Cain’s main appeal to his followers is his lack of political experience. Unfortunately, political experience is necessary when you are running for the highest political job in the nation. He should take some of his own experience and use it: start at the bottom and work your way up. The Presidency is not for rank amateurs.
Rick Perry was governor of Texas for 11 years. He did a fine job and was re-elected against a pretty popular old gal named Kaye Bailey Hutchison.
I like Kaye but Perry is much more conservative and the voters decided on him.
During those 11 years, Perry did maybe 3 things that the haters have glomed onto.
The gardisal thing ... that’s been explained about a million times but Perry haters don’t care. I won’t bother explaining it again.
Then the Perry haters delight in calling him LaRaza Rick and implying that he is a lover of illegal aliens. I think it took courage to speak to that group and was something a governor should have done since they are something of a force in the state. Perry spoke to them but he didn’t cater to them.
And, well, that’s about it ... a pretty dang good record for eleven years in a huge state that has more problems than Arizona or California with unwanted immigrants.
If anyone really wants to know the whole Gardisal story, he or she can find out the truth.
Please don’t imply that Perry has a part in this destruction.
It is all on Cain’s side.
For some reason we have yet to know, Cain despises Perry.
First the Rock interview on Meet the Press. That bothered me at the time but I thought maybe Cain was just unprepared for a gotcha question but he went a little too far in his implication that Perry was racist.
Then the really odd announcement (why, why, why?) that he would consider being veep for anyone but Perry.
That seems to me to be a shout out to Romney—who else had a real chance at that point?
Then this final debacle of accusing... with no basis or proof of any kind ... Perry of leaking this story.
What’s going on?
Obviously Cain is trying to destroy Perry for some reason but I’ve heard nothing of Perry trying to destroy Cain.
If you have any facts, you might want to share.
I don’t think Cain is a great candidate either.
In fact, he has very little to recommend him for President.
For some reason, he caught the fancy of conservatives, many of them disappointed Palin supporters.
From there he moved on to becoming a cult figure with a lot of creepy worshippers. They defended him by attacking other candidates, not on his particular merits.
I believe and hope that Cain has peaked and that people will come down to earth and realize that he is not a good candidate for us.
