She had to pay for her attorneys with private funds. I assume she could have asked for legal fund donations, no?

How much would you have given? I would have given hundreds, at least.

ANY such move would generate more of this garbage litigation. That was the point. I hope Alaska fixed the loophole, even though the attackers at least had the decency not to continue the jihad with the Lieutenant Governor. You file more than a certain number of ethics lawsuits that are baseless — especially if they are frivolous — and you pay, pay, pay. You don’t want to sting away onesy-twosy complaints that are well meaning but ill informed, but this was a full jihad.

Supporters set up a legal defense fund for her (I donated some). Ankle biters filed an ethics complaint over it freezing the funds.

No win situation.
