Cains camp points to the timing of Andersons hiring by Perry as evidence of his involvement. The campaign announced Andersons hiring on October 24, just a week before the story.
Again, the Perry campaign announced the hiring of Curt Anderson on October 24. Politico contacted the Cain campaign on October 19, and I wouldn't be surprised to learn Politico had been working on the story before October 19. Cain had better have more evidence than timing to back up his claim that this came from the Perry campaign.

There are a lot of opinions on this thread but so far I haven't seen a response to this.

It’s folly to think that talks didn’t go on before the formal hiring; for example, “what do your services bring to us?”

the Perry campaign announced the hiring of Curt Anderson on October 24. Politico contacted the Cain campaign on October 19 If he was hired on the 24th, it's extremely likely Anderson was speaking with, negotiating and or possibly revealing what a benefit he would be to the Perry campaign days or weeks prior the 24th.
Most people are not hired the same day they apply, and generally takes days or weeks before being actually hired.
Does this not make sense?
