Alas, it didn't quite work that way. The Washington Post came up with the word on a rock. Cain merely responded to the issue of "the N-word", which is the way you handle it until you have more information.

He was actually the target since the Post was trying to trip up Cain to demonstrate that he was an Uncle Tom ~ who could not attract black voters.

The Democrats do not want Cain in this race. They will do anything to keep him out.

If Cain had gotten fresh with two or three women (and the women accepted $35K as hush money, except now they weren’t hushing) all the conservative pundits and Rush would be comparing that to Clinton’s lip biting and cunnilingual shenanigans and Obama’s gay trysts and saying you’re all wrought up about that, you got to be crazy.

I’m going to give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you didn’t purposely misinterpret what I said.

I said Perry is an excellent politician. He is. Sleazy and effective and determined to do what is best for Rick Perry. I’m a Texan and have watched him for years.

I didn’t say anything about “excellent politics” in reference to the current controversy, so quit twisting my words.

Could someone post a brief timeline of the players/incidents so I can look at them?

This means a timeline of what is known...Not a difficult concept or complex.

Anyone??

Those links in #223 are pretty thin gruel. Did you read them?

I’ll tell you what this whole thing makes me think:

I wish Palin had stayed in the Governor’s chair and fought the Obama army of paid political mercenaries in Alaska.

She would have developed the strength to take on these commies and criminals.

That’s exactly what’s happening here. It doesn’t much matter whether Obama is behind this right now or not. He sure WILL be behind it later and it’s going to get a lot, lot rougher.

I wonder if there IS a later for Cain.

“Let’s hear what these women involved with the sexual harassment “settlement””

Screw them. Corporate “settlements” are simply the cost of doing business and justifies the HR dept. existence. A “settlement” means absolutely nothing as relates to the charges.

Cain is definitely “OK” and the only non politician. He has nothing in his past that would compromise the promises and proposals he is making now. The dispute with these “girls” scarcely counts. With Sarah Palin’s shadow gone from over him, he has room to grow. He has not yet proven himself a Ronald Reagan but is plausibly within hollering distance of such greatness. He is a professional mathematician, by the way.

Fact: supported Gore in the primary, did not work for Gore. Gore himself says Perry never worked for him, merely announced support.

Perry was a Republican by the time Clinton ran. He had already voted for George HW Bush against Dukakis in ‘88 after Gore lost in the primaries.

Therefore, while Cain was voting for Clinton and was still a Democrat, Perry was a Republican and voting for Republican candidates.

Fact: While still a Democrat, Perry voted twice for Ronald Reagan.

Fact: This is a voting profile that is shared by millions of Texans, who once voted reflexively Democrat but changed to today’s card carrying Republicans.

But Reagan carried Texas, even so, as did George HW Bush. Heck, Dwight Eisenhower carried Texas before you could hardly find a Republican in the state.

You were late with your post 274. We had already discussed the point you raised about discussions before October 24. Wasn’t talking about a timeline.

I wish Palin had stayed in the Governor’s chair and fought the Obama army of paid political mercenaries in Alaska.

The only way to do this would be to get the legislature to slam the loophole shut, and of course every move she made in pursuance of this would have generated more and more and more of these frivolous lawsuits none of which would have resulted in dinging the filers with so much as a penny in fines. A dispassionate cash flow analysis may have been the reason for Palin stepping down.

Forget about Perry. Imagine what Axelrod would've done with this later if not now.

Exactly. We should be glad it came out now and not a month before the election with Cain as our nominee. If it's false cain will come out of it stronger. If it's true better to be done with him now than later.

The Hildabeast's husband would like for her to return to the White House. At the same time he fears that an election where we are running a black guy will BREAK THE DEMOCRAT PARTY IN TWO (or more) PIECES.

Hillary knows that she'll be too old to run for President 5 years from now ~ this is her last chance, but unless Obama gets removed, or resigns, or decides not to run again, this is the end of her Presidential aspirations.

I think the Clinton's KNOW there are things that can get Obama off the ticket in time for Hillary to run and show the Democrats she is their great saviour.

However, that won't work if the Republican candidate is a black guy.

Hence, the Clintons want to get rid of Cain NOW, not later!

They are the only people who benefit from any of this.

This is not impossible, but then again, it would not appear Perry doesn’t have too much to gain by such a deal. On the other hand, I would also wonder about Obama and his past actions, such as having a record of scandal-bound political opponents in Chicago? Even if not Obama, likely someone sympathetic to him winning.

It wasn’t a sexual harassment settlement; it was an unjust termination settlement.
