Was the recent attack on Herman Cains presidential campaign a professional hit job? Absolutely, says Herman Cain. And he says he knows just where to look for the guy who did it: At 815 Slaters Lane in Alexandria, Virginia, a low-slung former warehouse in the shadow of a coal plant.

Chris Wilson doesn’t work for Romney, he works for Perry.
I agree, Cain better be 100% sure he’s right.
If he is, then it’s a good strategy. Go after your accuser and get it over as quickly as possible.
It’s now clear that the leaker’s strategy was to drip this story out over time to keep it alive. An anonymous source Sunday, another source Tuesday, not another anonymous source with something else. This could go on forever, drip drip, drip drip.
I don’t see both Perry’s and Cain’s campaign surviving this now. It’s one or the other.
Everybody here is saying that the dems would wait until october’12 to release this... but you could be right.
What if they WANT to run against Romney and don’t want anyone to spoil The Plan?
That's a hell of a lot more damaging.
Cain has shown a penchant for making excuses or blaming others for his goofups, but this is serious business. This goes to a man’s character.
If Perry is behind this, I want Perry gone.
If Perry is blameless, I want Cain gone.
It’s time for this to end one way or another. It’s time to focus on beating Obama.
I kinda tend to think he didnt think it was that big of a deal. Granted he should have been more prepared, but how he is a one man show and everywhere, he has by no means shyed away from the media which pissed all the Palinhaters out there because she didnt do anything but tweet or facbook. Your damned if you do and damned if you dont.
You seem confused. Politico doesn’t say who brought them the story. They just say who identified the first women.
And it's really more Romney's style.
I guess we'll see....
This has the looks of a sinking ship to me. Better now than later, that’s for sure.
Well I stand corrected. I wasn't aware that you were capable of making such a reasoned and logical arguement. Bravo!
A fight to the death.
I hope Cain is right because I don’t see anything seriously reviving Perry, even if Cain is dead wrong here and goes down in flames because of it.
Why would that make people willing to vote for Perry? I don’t see a lot of people changing their minds on that.
He just doesn’t have what it takes.
IF Cain stumbles (because of this or something else), then I’m afraid it comes down to:
Romney vs. Gingrich vs. Paul
Perry just is not in the mix any more.
You think there was a story to bring without the name of the women?
And all of these could be true. Cain could easily have given the American Restaurant Association a buzz late Monday and asked what happened. He’s probably bemused at what a big deal it became. Well politics ain’t beanbag, and I say that with shame at what America has become. I think it more likely than not that Cain will rebound without losing the lead position on Romney, and it will blow back on Perry.
She gets nothing out of this.
I see so many just accepting this as gospel...as they do with anything they want to believe.
The worship-crowd among us embarrasses FR...
Oh for God’s sake. If you read everything written about this, Politico never gave the Cain team any facts on what they had. They were in the dark until all this came out. All they new was that Politico had something but wouldn’t tell them what.
Now, just what the hell were they to do? WHAT?
Hummmm. bttt
There’s more = Fabrizio joined Perry’s team, too. Also named in the Forbes article.
Well hear this as well: In 1988 Democrat Rick Perry worked on the Al Gore presidential campaign.
